Are system valves and gauges accessible for operation, inspection, tests and maintenance? Check the following information for each type of sprinkler head inspected – a. Manufacturer name b. Check if a supply of spare sprinklers for the correct number and type of sprinklers used within the area being inspected are provided? (The minimum stock of spare sprinklers for each type shall be as follows – Less than 300 sprinklers – no fewer than 6 spare sprinklers 300 to 1000 sprinklers – no fewer than 12 sprinklers Over 1000 sprinklers – no fewer than 24 sprinklers) Provide the number of installed sprinklers for each type and the available stock for each type of sprinkler. Check if a sprinkler wrench for each type of sprinkler is available? Check if any decorative coatings for ornamentation and other markings are applied to the sprinklers? Are sprinklers subject to mechanical injury? If yes, please check that sprinklers are provided with listed guards? Are pipes and fittings in good condition and free of mechanical damage, leakage, and corrosion? Check if sprinkler piping is subjected to any external load by materials either resting on the pipe or hung from the pipe? Check if any cabling is wrapped around the sprinkler piping? Check if the hanger rods are properly attached from the ceiling Anchor? Check if the hangers are not damaged or lose? What is the type of sprinkler head installed?

Description the first landing above the bottom of the shaft within all stairs. Identify the stairs on plan drawing not provided with sprinklers. Check that sprinklers are provided at the bottom of all accessible shaft. Identify the location of accessible shafts on plan drawings that are not provided with sprinklers at the bottom. Check that sprinklers are provided in all toilets, small rooms, and closets. Identify on the plan drawing any areas not provided with sprinklers. (Toilets less than 5.1m2 in area are permitted to omit sprinklers when located within residential areas) Where the toilets are sub divided into partitions, check that the clearance between the sprinkler in common area of toilet and the partition of each cubicle is maintained for a minimum of 457mm. Check if any open grid ceiling is installed? If yes.. Are sprinklers provided beneath open grid ceiling and top of the ceiling? Identify the areas where sprinkler piping or hangers are used to support non-system components. Check that the C-type clamps of hangar assembly are securely fastened to the structure. What is the spacing between the hangers? Check that hangers are not installed within 76mm of the upright sprinklers. Check that riser clamps do not support risers by means of set screws. Check that intermediate supports are provided for vertical riser at an internal of not more than 7.6m. Check that 1.83m seismic separation assembly or listed flexible pipe assembly provided at the building seismic joints. Provide evidence and identify location on plan drawings.
Check that water control valves and flow switches are electronically monitored with the main fire alarm control panel Check that the drains discharge outside or to a drain connection capable of handling the flow of drain. Check that the pressure gauge is not installed on the drain side of the riser. Figure below shows an unacceptable installation of pressure gauge
