17PW26 Basic operation The 17PW26 power supply circuitry is very similar to the 17PW20 and operates in the same way. Please refer to the 17PW26 circuit diagram. (next page).
Standby Mode The standby circuit is a switch mode supply (IC806) which supplies always 3.3v and 5V supplies (via 5v Regulator IC829) to supply the CPU, NVM, IR & Keypad. A VF main 12V output is also fed from D807/C801 to switching transistor Q844. Q844 is controlled via opto coupler IC811 from the CPU (PL816 Pin 6) to provide standby / run switching.
Run Mode When Q844 is switched on it supplies VCC2 to IC802 (Power factor correction) and VCC1 IC830(half bridge). The switched run supply secondary voltages are then established.
Protection Q837 FET is connected to pin 2 of IC830. If any of the protection circuits operate, pin 2 is pulled low. IC803 will then cease outputting drive pulses and the run supplies will not be present. Various protection circuits feed into the gate of Q837, as can be seen from the circuit diagram. 4
