Variation Calibration

1. General Information The TM-42 is a transmitting magnetic compass system that displays

the

heading

of

the

ship

and

sends

NMEA-0183

sentences, using the FLUXGATE(SF-30) to sense the magnetic field of a magnetic compass. The primary functions of the TM-42 are

6. Troubleshooting - 7 -

1. The "ErrF" error message is displayed on the 7-segment. : This message caused when the cable connection between the TM-42 and the FLUXGATE(SF-30) is not correct. ☞ Recheck the cable connection between the TM-42 and the FLUXGATE(SF-30). 2. All LEDs and 7-segment display is off. ☞ Check the fuse or the cable connection. 3. The difference between the magnetic compass and the TM-42 is so large. ☞ Check the installation of the FLUXGATE(SF-30). Or replace the FLUXGATE. 4. There's no NMEA output from the TM-42. ☞ Change the wiring between the DNx pin and the DPx pin. (where x means the NMEA output channel number)
