Peripherals and Interfaces

Schindler 5500/6500 is a complete system. All necessary components are integrated and provided with standard orders. Peripherals are those extra elements that are outside the system but fully compatible. Type CADI GC

Description Computer Aided Diagnosis Instrument, based on the global control platform. Car Supporting Tool A set of two supports to be fixed to the rails as a support to built up the PK SL 33 car sling. Motor Clamp A cantilever fork to allow motor hoisting operations very close to the hoistway ceiling. Motor Stand Metallic stand with two horizontal sliding beams on top. It allows motor installation very close to the ceiling in combination with the TWP temporary working platform when no structural ceiling is available. STM Guiding Tool Allows a trouble less routing of the STM loop down towards the pit using the CWT rails as a guiding means. Specially interesting for big HQ values. STM Uncoiling Reel Tool to unreel the traction media if delivered in a "pizza" box. Recommended for HQ ≤ 40 m. STM Wire Kit For MRL applications to allow routing of the STMs underneath the car from the roof. TWP Temporary Independent car sling with instantaneous safety Working Platform gears to be fixed around the delivered car platform. Provides a light and safe independent working platform guided by the rails being installed. Specially indicated for cars above GQ = 1400 kg to allow hoisting with a standard 1000 kg electrical device in 2:1 roping. Temporary SA GBP Support to install the GBP temporarily to the Support hoistway wall. Installation Governor For scaffolding less MRL applications where Kit governors other than the SA GBP are delivered, to engage the safety gear of the working platform. Tripping Speed For scaffolding less MRL applications where SA Reducer GBP governors are delivered to reduce the tripping speed during installation.  For VKN 1.00 m/s  For VKN 1.25 m/s  For VKN 1.50 m/s  For VKN 1.60 m/s  For VKN 1.75 m/s Rail Lifter Tool to attach the guide rails and lift them up with the lifting device.

Plumbing weight Plumbing Tool

5 Summary

* Layout Information

This chapter provides the rules for the configuration of the Schindler 5500/6500 elevator system. It further lists the links to the most important system documents as well as some component calculations. These documents are produced during the ordering process (SAP VC) and generating a XML upload file for the elevator designer. The layout information listed in this chapter supports the user when placing individual orders and can be used for general information during the order preparation stage.

5.1

* Basic Design Philosophy

Schindler 5500/6500 is a modular passenger (service considering sill load = 0.6 * GQ) elevator system which extends the MRL technology of Schindler 3300 towards more flexibility. In addition, it stretches the limits of MRL to HQ = 150 m and VKN = 3.0 m/s. The complete elevator is designed for minimum hoistway footprint and full MRL application. However, a MMR solution is also available. The full parameterization allows flexibility for the majority of the custom requirements with a minimum of engineering effort. The traction media in combination with a very compact drive consequently arranged as MRL reduces the required space in the building and the product cost. In addition, the energy consumption can be reduced significantly. In summary, Schindler 5500/6500:  Requires the smallest hoistway in its class  Provides the highest comfort in the car, on the landings and in adjacent rooms  Offers pleasing standard car designs for high demands.

000 Elevator System

 Standard layout drawing is counterweight and machine left (looking from main entrance into the hoistway) car fix point right. Overspeed governor right front on top of the car fix point SALSIS right rear. Pit ladder right front on the wall (above governor tension weight)  Optional the whole layout can be turned by 180° that is counterweight and machine right, car fix point left. Overspeed governor left rear on top of the car fix point SALSIS left front. Pit ladder right front on the wall (beside SALSIS magnetic band)  Position the elevator in the hoistway so that the counterweight has minimum distance to the wall  The guide axis is in the center of the car TK/2 with sliding guide shoe  100 mm offset for small cars.

100 Gearless Machines

 Always positioned on top of the counterweight  Standard position is on the left (looking from main entrance into the hoistway)  Machine support standing on three guide rails.

Depending on local regulations, only FML/FMR machines can be used in certain countries. GQ [kg] 630 ≤ 1000 ≤ 1600 ≤ 1800

220 Controller

    

240 COP

 Standard position is on the right side wall  The COP is full height and flush mounted (if key switches are used, they may protrude from the COP)  The COP should usually be installed on the side opposite to the counterweight. Installation on the counterweight side is possible only for the configurations listed in the table below:

Standard position is on the top floor, on the left side of the door Position the controller preferably on the machine side Optionally, the controller can be placed on the floor below the top floor The traveling cable is suspended from an Omega bracket PEBO for evacuation of trapped passenger is mandatory. Standard position above the landing door on the top floor.
