New Acid Gas Removal Plant (AGRP) at Dukhan

The main objective of New Acid Gas Removal Plant (AGRP) at Dukhan the project is to treat 450 MMSCFD of Khuff gas in order to meet COMPANY QP undertaking to supply sweet fuel gas to industrial customers in the State of Qatar, while complying with the State Environmental Regulations in terms of sulphur emissions. The plant shall be installed at the Dukhan Arab-D Plant area. Under the project, the following facilities shall be carried out: • Amine Package (AP) at existing Arab-D Plant in Dukhan • TEG Dehydration Unit (TEGU) at existing Arab-D Plant in Dukhan • Acid Gas Compression facilities (AGC) to route the acid gas from new Amine package outlet to existing booster compressors inlet to inject the Acid Gas to the Arab-D reservoir. •

New gas transportation pipelines for carrying sour gas to the AGR plant and transporting back dry sweet treated gas to Station-No

• New Utility and control systems (power, hot oil, instrument air, nitrogen, flare, loss prevention systems, effluent water treatment etc.) as required for the new facilities ensuring independent operation of these new facilities. 2

SCOPE This standard provides the requirements for selection and use of Pipe Supports for piping systems on the NEW AGRP at DUKHAN.

GENERAL NOTES FOR PIPE SUPPORTS:

1- On the Issued for Construction isometric drawing, the primary pipe support should be part of Pipe Support Group of Bill of Material. Wear plates, Shoes & Trunions should neither be welded nor tack welded during pre fabrication. They should be shipped loose (banded along with main pipe) and welded at site after confirming the position of supports during erection.

2- Secondary pipe supports shall be indicated on the piping isometric drawings through 'support illustration code' as per actual support detail. It should be part of Pipe Support Group of Bill Of Material in the isometric drawing.

3- All steel sections and plates necessary for the fabrication of the pipe supports shall be in accordance with BS sections or equivalent. The material for all sections shall be as indicated in pipe support drawings.

4- Pipes 1.5" and smaller are field supported. Supports if indicated in the 3D model 1 2D drawings are for guidance only.

5- All bolting for pipe supports shall be in accordance with BS 41901 BS 36921 ASTM A325.

6- All carbon steel bolting, washers and U-bolts used for supports shall be supplied in hot dip galvanized condition. U-bolts for SS lines shall be SS-304.

7- All dimensions in this specification are in mm unless otherwise noted.

8- SS/Teflon pad shall be introduced, if required, to minimlze contact friction between pipes & supporting structure as per piping stress analysis requirements. However use of such supports shall be minimized.

9- Surface preparation & painting requirements shall be as per project painting specification.

10- Stainless steel bearing plates shall be provided on the supporting steel wherever SS piping rests directly on the steel. Bearing plates are not required when SS pipes are provided with wear pad. For Incoloy & Cu-Ni also, bearing plates to be provided as per Support Std.

11- If PWHT requirements are as per B31.3, then welded attachment to pipe is to be used and support attachment doesn't call for PWHT requirement. However for pipes with all welds for PWHT, support shall be of clamp type.

12- For structural steel supports, the horizontal load capacity shall be considered to be 0.3 times & 0.15 times of vertical load capacity in the longitudinal and lateral pipe direction respectively.

13- For structural supports, the maximum loads given are valid for particular dimensions (e.g. L, H) and shall be used as a gUideline for selecting the supports. Dimensions and loads other than those mentioned may be used after verifying the same for structural integrity.

14- Allowable loads are generally indicated in pipe support standards. However for supports where allowable loads are not indicated, stress engineer shall verify the adequacy of the supports for the applied loads.

15- Structural sections indicated in the standard support details may be replaced by equivalent sections of comparable dimensions.

16- All fillet welds shall be 6mm of pipe wall/plate thickness being welded otherwise noted in the standard details.

17- For supporting insulated lines 1.5" NB & below, insulation shall be cut 50 mm each on either side of support point.

18- Unless otherwise specified in the isometrics, the gaps indicated in the support standard are to be maintained.

19- For shoes on insulated lines, slots shall be incorporated suitably in the shoe assembly to accommodate insulation straps/ tracer lines, to suit field req ui rements.

20- Pipe support numbering philosophy shall be described in pipe support summary document.

21- Lines subjected to Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) having thickness SCH 20 or less are to be supported with clamp type arrangement. Wherever welded shoes are required, complete encirclement pad (EP) is to be provided. Shoes or any other attachments will be welded to encirclement pad.

22- Pipe supports on dismantling spools should be avoided.

23- U-Bolts shall be used as Anchors for small size pipes, max up to 3".

24- Dissimilar welding of pipe wall is not permitted.

25- All spring supports shall be Hot-Dip galvanized. All springs shall be Neoprene coated, unless otherwise specified. Alternate coating shall be acceptable if shown to offer an improvement over Neoprene coating.

26- Galvanized steel shall not be in direct contact with stainless steel piping.

27- In metallic piping, valves shall not be supported from their flanges.

28- For large size Valves, supports legs will be provided by the Valve manufacturer to support the valve temporarily during maintenance. These valve supports will not be considered for actual supporting of pipes.

29- Use of Pick-Up supports shall be minimized.

30- Wear Pad shall be provided for uninsulated CS/LTCS pipes 18" NB and above with wall thickness SCH STD &. Below. Wear Pad shall be provided for SS pipes 16" NB and above only for wall thickness SCH 10S and below. However requirement of wear pad is dependent on contact length of supporting member. Stress Engineer needs to check requirement as per available contact length for other pipes.

31- On the isometric drawing, the location of primary support is indicated by the following symbols.

32. If support parameter (length, Height, load etc), Primary/Secondary limit, Special Support will be provided.

exceeds standard

33. For PP insulated lines, insulation will be locally cut at support locations. 34. MateriallD table for support as below: CS - Carbon Steel IT - low Temp Carbon Steel SS - Stainless steel DS - Duplex Stainless Steel AS - INCOlOY lA - low Temp Alloy CN - Cu-Ni Sl - Stainless steel below -46 deg C
