1 - PRESENTATION 1-1 Description The SIDEOS One is a configurable system for speed monitoring designed to secure the lifting of a handling equipment. > It is set according to: - The lifting characteristics • Number of encoder pulses per revolution • Nominal speed of lifting in rpm • Deceleration time - The selected functions • Speed thresholds to monitor • Dynamic Slipping • Break of the kinematic chain • Encoder monitoring - The number of pulses to confirm an Overspeed • Validation Overspeed 1, Static and Dynamic Slippings • Validation Overspeed 2 • Validation Overspeed 3 and kinematic chain break

Parameters NC NS DT SP1-SP2-SP3 TS TS and DS RC VS1 VS2 VS3

Access to the parameters is protected by a locking mode. It receives: - The speed signal(s) of the installation - The functional orders of the lifting control of the handling equipment. > It monitors:

- the lifting stop (deceleration) - the lifting stop positioning

- a Static Slipping - a Static Slipping

> It signals the triggering origin: - via the alphanumeric display - via an auxiliary contact of the output contactors

> It secures the global operation of the speed monitoring system by means of : : its redundant internal and external design and its monitoring system (DC> 99%) which allow the detection of all the internal and external failures.

> It records: - The opening of the output contactors or relays and this even in case of power cut - The 3 last Fault messages

It allows to obtain a secured speed monitoring system Category 2 PL d up to Category 4 PL e according to the standard NF EN ISO 13849-1.

> Il releases: - the fault when the RESTART button is manually actuated, this action allows the control system to receive a distinct starting order.

> External failures The monitoring system of the SIDEOS One is designed to detect all the external signals failures by means of a redundant or logic treatment of the input signals. It secures the operation of the speeds inputs, the contacts inputs, the System Fault outputs and the Overspeed outputs (DCavg>99%). > Internal failures The SIDEOS One detects all the internal faults (DCavg>99%), either during the operation, or during the AUTOTEST. Faults, detected only during the AUTOTEST, do not lead to loss the safety function thanks to the redundant internal design.

> Cut-off and safe connection of the System Fault and Overspeed outputs supply The SIDEOS One system, that cuts off the supply of the System Fault and Overspeed outputs, is designed to switch off the output supply whatever the fault present on the output. > Autotest The Autotest triggers automatically at power on (time 1.5s) or at a manual starting-up (RESTART) following a triggering of a SIDEOS One output (time 1s). The AUTOTEST allows a global checking and ensures the SIDEOS One to operate correctly, if the AUTOTEST is validated. See chapter 6-2d) for a detailed description.

It ensures : - a cross-monitoring of its internal operation - a dynamic test of the overspeed function every 360 pulses of the encoder - the control of validity of the memories Non contractual photographs. 2-2 Implementation

REMINDER

The machine manufacturer is responsible for the implementation. For installation, use and checks, it is recommended to take into account this document instructions and also the standards, prescriptions, national or international rules and directives that apply in particular: - Machinery directive 2006/42/EU - Low voltage directive 2014/35/EU - EMC Electromagnetic compatiblity 2014/30/EU

> Category 2 = Occurence of a fault can lead to the loss of the safety function in the interval between two controls. Loss of the safety function is detected by the control. Nota: The system faults control system of the SIDEOS One allows to detect during operation all the faults that can involve the loss of the safety function during the time of validation of the system faults.

2-3 Operation category according to EN ISO 13849-1 The SIDEOS One is a rotation speed monitoring system. It prevents dangerous phenomena that may occur in an unexpected way (crash risk due to a load fall), it is intended to be used in a part of the control circuit relating to safety (goods and people protection). It allows to obtain according to the selected application diagram a secure system of overspeed detection of category 2 up to 4 and a performance level PL=d or e according to the standard ISO/IEC 13849-1.

> Category 3 = When a single-fault occurs, the safety function is always maintained. Some faults are detected, but not all. Accumulation of undetected faults can lead to the loss of the safety function. Nota: The AUTOTEST system of the SIDEOS One allows to detect all the faults. > Category 4 = When a single-fault occurs, the safety function is always maintained. The detection of accumulated faults reduce the probability of loss of a safety function (high DC coverage). Faults are detected in time to prevent the loos of the safety function. Nota: The AUTOTEST system of the SIDEOS One allows to detect all the faults.

Use of Fault System output

He can afterwards make a stop or completes the manoeuvre according to the procedure he had defined : End of motion secured by other means for example : • Redundancy with an other system or utilization of 2 SIDEOS One as shown in the example given in ch.10-6 • End of process in fail-soft operation at low speed.

DANGER ! Triggering of the System Fault output indicates a fault of the monitoring system operation: This signal must be processed in order to keep the machine in a safe state. The mechanical or electrical stop must be selected in priority, otherwise the system integrator will give to the machine-operator a visual or a sound warning of the system failure.

DANGER ! To ensure that the action required by the customer is taken into account: - KDS contacts intervene directly in the intended control (for example in the supply line of the brakes) - or the customer connects a KA contact on the input of the System Fault / Feedback contactor to confirm the proper execution of the required action.

Use of the overspeed output DANGER ! Triggering of the overspeed output indicates an emergency situation and must imperatively triggers a mechanical stop order of type 0. Selection of the output contactors or relays. DANGER ! Contactors or relays have mechanically-controlled auxiliary contacts conform to the standards : CEI 60947-5-1 / CEI 60947-4-1 :2001 Annexe F / EN 50205. In case of an indirect use of the output contacts, these contacts will have to be secured by the integrator see diagram 10-1b)

Connection of the output contactors or relays does not need particular precautions, outputs being naturally safe, thanks to the detection of all wiring faults by the SIDEOS One. The arcing eliminators must always been installed on the terminals of the contactors coils. DANGER ! Use of arcing eliminators involve an increase of the response time of the output contactor and more particulary when a free-wheeling diode is used in 24VDC.

d) Monitoring of SIDEOS One operation

6-3 RESTART function

> Autotest Fault

> RESTART control : - triggers an AUTOTEST before supplying again the contactors outputs, - is automatically activated, at power on, in absence of triggering record. - is manually activated, after a SYSTEM fault triggering or an OVERSPEED triggering: the RESTART control can be activated only manually at standstill.

Internal operation fault detected during an AUTOTEST The SIDEOS One has a redundant design, a single-fault undetected during normal operation, does not involve the loss of the safety function and this fault will be detected during the Autotest. The monitoring system tests all the signals and functions of the SIDEOS One. The Autotest triggers automatically at power on (time 1.5s) or following a manual RESTARTcontrol after the triggering of a SIDEOS One output (time 1s). During the Autotest all contacts outputs are open. The Autotest allows the detection of all internal failures by means of a testing logic 1-0-1.

> the restart control is secured, to activate the RESTART control, press on the RESTART key on the front face of the SIDEOS One during more than 1 second. When the key is released, the SIDEOS One triggers an Autotest procedure. PERIODIC CONTROL : > According to the ISO 13489-1 standard, a periodical inspection of the SIDEOS One must be carried out to ensure the good operation of all the parts of the safety system. > In case of a direct use of the output contacts and compliance with the recommendations of this leaflet, the voluntary triggering of an AUTOTEST (power off / power on) allows to ensure the good operation of the SIDEOS One. > If activation / deactivation of the output contacts is not frequent, an AUTOTEST must be carried out at least : - Once a month (category 4) - Once a year (category 2 and 3) > In case of a direct use of the output contacts, the system integrator must ensure the safety of operation of all the parts controlled by the SIDEOS One.

> Internal Fault 1 Internal signals fault detected during operation that can involve the loss fo the safety function. The internal monitoring system detects the inconsistencies on the internal signals that can involve a loss of the safety function (redundance + checking). > Internal Fault 2 Fault detected by the dynamic Test of the Overspeed function during operation. The internal monitoring system checks every 360 pulses of the encoders the good operation of the overspeed detection.

Time delay DD active when the direction is reversed, the SIDEOS One does not process the direction difference between the control and the real speed during all the time delay DT (Deceleration Time). The control Ar must be present at least 10ms during the change of direction.

Dynamic threshold of overspeed 1 (SP1Dyn): When the speed control moves from KV3 (GV running) or KV2 (PV running) towards KV1(Stop), after a waiting time of 0.5s the SIDEOS One decreases the threshold Overspeed 3 (GV) or Overspeed 2 (PV) down to threshold of Overspeed 1 = 0 (Stop) relatively to the parameter DT.

Stop Order active (KV1=1): A Static Slipping is detected if the speed is higher than the threshold SP1Dyn or SP1=0 (T3 finished) during VS1 encoder signals, without rotation direction reversal. The SIDEOS One detects Static Slipping Fault :

- Too slight deceleration : Speed > SP1Dyn. - Slipping at standstill.

Ascent order active (KV1=0 and KD=0) or Descent order active (KV1=0 and KD=1) : A dynamic Slipping is detected if the rotation direction detected by the encoder is different during VS1 encoder signals of ther equired rotation direction (Delay T2 finished). The SIDEOS One detects a rotation detection fault :

- Too slight deceleration : Time to reverse the rotation direction > DT (speed controller fault: setting). - Fault of the control system or fault of the speed controller.

SV2

PV running order active (KV2=1) : An overspeed 2 (PV) is detected if the speed is higher than the threshold SP2Dyn or SP2 (T1 finished), SP2 (if active) during VS2 encoder signals, without rotation direction reversal.

SV3

GV order active :An overspeed GV is detected if the speed is higher than the threshold SP3 during VS3 encoder signals, without rotation direction reversal.

11 - SIDEOS One START-UP > SIDEOS One power off, check : - the compliance with the wiring diagram: see ch. 6. - that an adequate protection is provided on the mains input, see ch. 6. > Power on the SIDEOS One. - Absence of recorded fault: The SIDEOS One performs automatically an AUTOTEST - Presence of recorded fault: Actuate during 1s than release the button RESTART. - Light : Test (Orange flashing). > Result of the Autotest : TEST FAULT
