8. GLASS PANEL INSTALLATION NOTICE: Install a Glass vertically. Adjust high and low, left and right side width of handrail return guide. ▪ Glass padding install to panel support extrusion after clamp bolt loosen. ▪ Assemble a Glass accurately starting from bottom curve by setting on a W.P. basis. NOTICE:

If dimension is incorrect from W.P. to edge of glass and height that handrail and newel skirt is not capable of assembly.

▪ Adjust 2mm gap for upper and lower part of joint of adjacent glasses by pre-assembling variable glass. ▪ Check whether Glass is being installed vertically or not by using machinist level. ▪ Assemble top curve glass finally and then inspect vertical & horizontal level once more. Readjust it by using mounting clamp, if required. ▪ Clamp bolt fasten. NOTICE: Two pieces of roughly 2mm thick padding will maintain space of panels until all the glasses are installed and then shims will be removed. Leave 2mm gap between each panels. NOTICE: Maintain 2mm space between glasses. In case of 2mm gap is not maintained then handrail tension will be affected.

Electric Principle

17.1

Summary Parts of escalator: electromotor with brake, under step lighting, oil pump, starting key switches,

exigency stop switches. When escalator is equipped with fault finder ,it can show the state of safely switches, Running direction(turn around key switch to right for up direction running and turn around key switch to left for down direction running). After escalator start running, turn the key switch to mid position. Press emergency stop switches can stop escalator at any time. Electric system can stop escalator for emergency case in order to avoid accident and damage ES itself.

17.1.1

Running methods of escalator

17.1.1.1 running mode 17.1.1.1.1 Manual mode: Press key switch for 5 seconds to enter into manual mode. 17.1.1.1.2 Automatic mode: press key switch to keep escalator running in automatic mode. Running time is set by PLC through VR and its default running time is about 40~50 seconds. You can prolong running time by turn VR switch in plc in clockwise direction. When the auto running photo sensor is activated, the ES start to run until running time is over. If the auto running photo sensor is detected again, the ES start running again. 17.1.1.2

gist of aux brake escalator running

17.1.1.2.1 With auxiliary brake The escalator must running up direction first to keep aux brake activated and then escalator can run for down direction 17.1.1.2.2. Without aux brake The escalator can run for up or down direction. 17.1.1.3

Fig 15-9

Explanation: 1 Solenoid 2 GOV.SW 3 AUX SW 4 Brake claw Refer to figure for detailed. The AUX break is composed by the Solenoid, GOV.SW, AUXILIARY SW, Brake claw. AUX brake work principle 1. principle After Power is on, turn around key switch to automatic run mode. In this way, ES can only run for up direction. When the ES running, the AUX brake Solenoid is power on and the Brake claw is released. If you change ES can run direction for down running, the AUX brake Solenoid is still power on. 2. Working conditions for AUX brake 1)

When the ES speed is abnormal, the AUX brake will activate. Meanwhile the brake claw is activated and the AUX brake Solenoid is power off.

2)

When drive chain is broken, GOV SW and reversal SW is activated, the PLC stops the ES and the AUX brake will release.

3)

When Brake‘s bush is destroyed, the AUX brake will release.

- 35 -

NW-BT ESCALATOR INSTALLATION GUIDE BOOK ES operation after AUX brake activated First, hold the key SW to keep ES run for up direction about 5 meters long distance. While the Solenoid is power on, the Brake claw will release. Then ES can run normally. Installation of AUX brake Refer to fig.15-8, 15-9, 15-10 and 15-11 for installation dimension.
