This is one of the free prize-winning projects. The main idea is to send your suggestions for making and assembling this stool in the STOOL KATARINA topic in the Forum section, or you can write comments on other people suggestions. The most important thing when making this project is to cut the items precisely, and drill the holes on the Seat Boards (item 1), Legs (item 2) and Paws (item 3) with great accuracy. You can successfully drill the holes in many ways – send us your suggestions about that, and the best-suggested works will be rewarded by the gift-projects by the author’s choice. Of course, you will decide which solution is the best. Stool Katarina topic is now open on the Forum section – please send your suggestions and comments there. You can use various types of wood to make this project. Practical Stool

As the object with many aspects of use, the stool has played the important role in everyday life since long time ago. Made up in various shapes and having symbolic, ceremonial and practical meaning, in the past times these seats were also significant ritual objects, used by chiefs, shamans and members of various tribes for centuries. With a suitable small size, stools were precious personal things, especially for people living in moving villages and for migrant nations, providing them refreshing moments of rest and preserving the memories of their motherlands. Nowadays, the stool remains to be a favorite widget, whether it serves as a seating for craftsmen, farmers and artists, or it’s being popular among the children and adults as both practical and decorative part of furniture. You can use many kinds of wood for making this Stool, but we recommend you to purchase some wood with nice texture like Ash, Walnut, Beech, Cedar, Birch, Maple, Oak, Pine, etc. If you are planning to paint the Stool, the texture of a selected wood is not important. Make all the items precisely by the measurements given on particular 2D drawings. The measurements are given in millimeters, and the measurements in inches are given in brakes (1 inch = 25, 4 mm).

Assemblage Instructions 1. Join the Side Boards (item 2) with the Longitudinal Lath (item 3) using the Wedges (item 4). You can put small amount of glue on the Wedges before this operation. Wait until glue is dry before you continue with assemblage.

2. Lightly mark the outlines of the Side Boards (item 2) with pencil on the lower side of the Top Board (item 1).

3. Put the Dowel Centers into the holes on the Side Boards (item 2) and then mark the spots for the holes on the Top Board (item 1).

Drill the holes on spots on the Top Board (item 1) that you marked in the previous step.

4. Join the Top Board (item 1) with the subassembly made in step 1 with glue using Dowels D8x34 (item 5) and wait until glue is dry.

If you like to paint, you can cover this stool in some vivid color and draw some flowers, animals or other motives on its surface. Be creativ, free your imagination, and as a result, you will have an original artifact in your home.

All these activities allow you to spend some quality time outdoors and be physically active in nature, to have peace and quiet, away from city noises, stress and smog.

The first time you will go camping, you will probably find out that you did not brought a lot of things that you need for camping. You will become more experienced after few years, you will understand which things are necessary and which excessive and you will be equipped with the right camping gear. Your holiday in nature will become more comfortable and relaxed. Experienced campers have camping gears which they always carry on camping. It usually consists of equipment like tent, sleeping bags or blankets, folding table, kitchen utensils, camping stools or camping chairs, hammock and numerous small but important things. We recommend you to choose some hard and durable hardwood or pressure treated wood, suitable for outdoor use. However, if you decide to use some less resistant wood, protect it with several coats of water-proof finish. Protect it with a finish at least once a year, because your fishing stool will be often exposed to a moisture and damp. When the stool is not in use, clean it from the dirt, wipe off the moisture, dry it thoroughly and then place it in a dry place. Only then the wood and leather will last for years. With the right choice of the wood and proper finish you will get great and long lasting stool. When it comes to the finish, you can paint it with color or lacquer, but you can also leave it without a finish. We are using this folding stool in the backyard without finish for years. 6. Drill 4 holes on the assembly made in the previous step following 2D documentation. Then carefully hammer in it Dowels D6 x 35mm (Part 8). Do not forget to put some glue on the tip of Dowels and in each hole, before you join them.

7. Drill the hole with diameter D30mm (1,18in) on the assembly made in the previous step. Attach the Seat Axle(Part 9) with glue to the assembly

8. Attach the Support Board (Part 3) with glue to the assembly made in the previous step.

Wait until the glue dries out, then drill pilot holes trough the Support Board (Part 3) and Column (part 5) and screw the Wood Screws D5 x 50mm (Part 6) in the holes. This step will additionally fasten construction.
