Hydraulic Mining Excavator

RH 200

RH 200

Market Leader

in the 500-Tonne-Class

Durable, reliable, powerful! These attributes made the RH 200 such a successful machine, since the introduction in 1989. Being the best-selling shovel in its category this unit proved its capabilities around the globe making the name RH 200 famous in the entire mining industry. More than 100 manufactured units Many mines operate several RH 200s and especially these follow-up-orders emphasize the superior all-over-concept of this 500 tonne machine. Preferred haul units are 190 to 240 ton trucks, which are loaded by the RH 200 in four to five passes.

2

The standard bucket capacity is 28 m³ for the backhoe version and 26 m³ for the TriPower face shovel attachment.

The RH 200 is a technically mature hydraulic excavator with more than 3,000,000 total operating hours, which were achieved in different applications and climate zones respectively. These operations include coal, ore and diamond mining in high temperatures and under arctic conditions as well as at an altitude of more than 4,500 m above sea level. The major precondition for competence in excavator manufacturing is longtime field experience. Only practical expertise allows for target-orientated developments, placing a specific product in an unbeaten market position! The RH 200s components verified their durability many times and the RH 200 allover design was the model for other TEREX O&K hydraulic shovels.

3

Also the RH 200 features the traditional TEREX O&K superstructure layout comprising two engines in lengthwise direction with the hydraulic tank in the center. The most important benefit: Superior access to all service points. The water coolers for instance are separated from the engine and hydraulically driven to obtain access to either engine from three sides.

The main valve block is located on top of the boom in order to create free access to the slew motors and gearboxes as well as the rotary distributor.

Well-engineered and proven Technology High-pressure-filters protect the hydraulic components.

The walkable pump-bay in the front area of the superstructure is clearly structured.

4

The radiator fans are hydraulically driven and thermostatically controlled. This allows the access to the each engine from three sides.

The patented oil cooling system is independent from the return flow and provides cooling capacity even with the engines idling.

All grease points including slew ring are served by the hydraulically controlled central lubrication system.

Besides the impressive spaciousness, it is the cab’s ergonomics, handling and deluxe comfort that are so trend-setting and, in every respect, motivating. The aircushioned, multi-adjustable seat allows stress free and tireless working, with the operator having both excellent visibility around his machine‘s equipment and into the loading target. A major additional reliability factor is the TEREX O&K Board Control System BCS. Featuring an error-storage device, this computerized control system monitors all the relevant operating data. Any variances are indicated optically and acoustically before damage develops.

For predominantly mobile applications, the preferred choice for the RH 200 is the diesel drive comprising two powerful, water-cooled engines. TEREX O&K‘s proven twin engine concept ensures enhanced reliability and availability since, even with short-term failure on one engine, the excavator continues to function fully. An economical alternative to diesel power for more stationary operations is the long-life, low-maintenance, clean and from any altitude independent electric motor. Traditionally TEREX O&K has a comprehensive experience in manufacturing electrically driven hydraulic excavators.

5

No matter which version is the best adaptation to individual site conditions; each RH 200 attachment option offers more than enough power and an exactly matching kinematics system. Boom and stick of both types are stress relieved after the welding

process. The rotatable triangular linkage is as estab-

lished as the RH 200 itself. The unique connection of the face shovel’s cylinders offers decisive advantages: Constant-angle bucket position at any boom position and backtilt limiter – for a high degree of fill at all times

Constant boom momentum Increased effective lifting forces Pressure free retracting of boom and stick cylinders

It’s your Choice! The Backhoe attachment suits versatile kinds of applications: Whether operated in the traditional way with digging on the lower level or applying the double benching mining method to increase the effective bench height.

6

Rigorously engineered for punishing mining routine, the RH 200‘s oversized undercarriage is remarkably rugged. Designed to safely absorb the enormous hydraulic forces while eliminating time consuming maintenance chores, the entire chassis has a low center of gravity for rock-like stability. Lifetime lubricated sprockets and idlers, track and support rollers make the entire undercarriage virtually maintenance free. The necessary mobility on the independently driven crawlers is provided by two powerful traction motors with two travel speeds and three-stage planetary gear units. The traction drives are effectively protected by being integrated into the crawler profile. The all-hydraulic, track tensioning system selfadjusts for work or travel modes, reducing unnecessary stress and wear.

A sure-footed

powerful performer

The RH 200 travel motors are of a compact design and are protected by solid steel covers with hinged doors. The small door is assigned for inspection, the big one allows for servicing.

The slew ring is directly fitted to the carbody base plate. No outside and therefore exposed lubrication lines are necessary due to internal grease channels inside the slew ring.
