The central area represents the plant graphically (e.g. scales - silos - belts - mixer truckmixer). Dry plant – Plant with mixer – Plant with By-Pass (Mixer and Truckmixer direct loading). In every silo there is a weight to be extracted (1) and a weight extracted (2); for the aggregates only it is possible to see the percentage moisture read by the probe during the automatic loading (5). For the aggregates, the weight of the formula is initially displayed; after calculating the moisture, the correct weight (4) is displayed, namely the one actually to be extracted. In each scale there is the weight repetition (9), the scale status (6), the displaying of the subcycles made and to be made (8) and, if possible, the controls for operating the vibrator (7). For the discharge of the material in truckmixer or mixer, there are start/stop controls to start the discharge screws or solenoid valves of the various scales (10). For the aggregates, there is a start/stop control to start the extraction belts under the scale (11), as well as a sloping belt (12) to transport the material to the truckmixer or mixer. The start/stop button for the scale discharge (13) would be the consent to discharge all scales in truckmixer or mixer.

Batch

Start The Start function enables to make a new batch in automatic mode, guiding the operator in the choices for a correct batch "launch". The first selection suggested by the program is the one of the formula to be made. The list of the available recipes sorted by number is displayed; click on the column heading to sort the list also by code or by name. For searching, write the initial letters of the formula you are looking for: the selection bar will move according to the letters keyed in and the active sorting. To accept the selected formula, press the confirmation button. The formula to be set is fully displayed after selecting it. Set the quantity in cubic meters (supposing that the stored formula relates to a volume of one cubic meter). Press the confirmation button: the formula data are automatically re-processed to get the required batch. If the plant is equipped with mixer and by-pass for loading in truckmixer, the use of the mixer can be indicated using the suitable drop-down menu and setting the mixing time (T.Mix), the unloading time (T.Sca) and the partial opening time (T.Ap). Depending on the choice made, the program relates the set cubic meters to the capacity of the mixer or of the plant, and divides the weighing (cycle) in a proper number of sub-cycles. Other parameters used for dividing the cycle in more sub-cycles are: the "Max. quantity to be extracted from each

10

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

hopper" (see product parameters), the full scales (see scale parameters) and the max. mixer capacity for a batch. It is also possible to indicate a max. quantity/sub-cycle in this step. If an extraction and/or discharge sequence other than those preset or indicated in the formula is to be set, use the specific buttons. If the manual change of the formula data is enabled, pressing the change button you can: set the single components groups (if "change set at start" is enabled); the "%" button enables to calculate automatically a percentage for the cement, to change and store the formula (if "change formula at start" is enabled). If the option "Automatic start" is de-selected, the data will be stored on the PC but the cycle must be started automatically (see delivery management). Press the start button for the final confirmation. If the plant is ready, the batch is started immediately; to generate a waiting delivery use the specific function in the delivery management page. Manual weights Using this function the operator can batch automatically but setting manually the wished weight for each single extractor. In the manual weighing, it is also possible to set the water in truckmixer, the m³ returned, the recycled water, the times for mixing, discharging and partially opening the mixer. Alarms

List of possible alarms with their status:

ON Alarm active OFF Alarm not active TAC Alarm silenced Deliveries This function allows a delivery queue to be managed. It is thus possible to set the batches to be made in advance: they will be automatically made in sequence. The possible deliveries in progress and waiting on the PLC are displayed at the top of the page; all deliveries in the archive are listed in the rest of the page. Orders The programmed orders can be set from day to day using this function for an easier delivery management. The data displayed in the list can be set using the configuration button. The default setting includes the displaying of: Order code Customer code Destination code Truckmixer code Pump code Formula code

11

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Ordered cubic meters Delivered cubit meters Remaining cubic meters Date and time expected for the delivery Delivery note Associate the concrete delivery note to each cement batch. Tolerance Alarms due to extraction errors at the batching can be accepted using this function. The function has an immediate effect. Before confirming it is advisable to check the entity of the error in the batching, and possibly correct MANUALLY as needed. The displayed messages relate to the scale that has detected an out of tolerance value at the batching. If this alarm occurs too frequently, it is advisable to use the extractor parameters for optimizing the batching and the possible tolerances. For this function, open the Batch menu, enter the Tolerance menu, then click the item of the scale on which the detected error is to be accepted. End of weighing This function forces the end of the extraction, thus finishing the charging of the selected scale. Its use is up to the operator, as after this operation during an automatic batch the weighing cannot be continued. Accept product This function forces the end of the extraction of a product. Its use is up to the operator, as after this operation during an automatic batch the weighing cannot be continued. The plant will continue extracting the next product. Accept start with negative reading using this command..

With scale negative value, the batch can start only

Reset read error A check on the weight is active during the batch: after 10 seconds that the weight has exceeded the tare value if it returns below it and remains there for the filter time set, the read alarm is activated (it is supposed that there is a problem with the load cells). This command resets the alarm (as alternative the End of weighing can be used, but in this case the weighing is aborted). Change extractor This function enables to change the extractor while batching if the hopper or storage silo are empty or if it is impossible to batch for mechanical problems. The list of the silos associated with the extractor number is displayed. Select the box of the "locked"silo and change the number of the extractor with the one from which the material is to be extracted (equal or similar to the product set in the formula). The extraction continues automatically from the selected hopper or silo. Special functions It allows the Betonwin 3 program to enable special functions such as plant manual/automatic, batch additions and additive washing, etc... Cycle Automatic: automatic cycle setting Manual: manual cycle setting

12

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Pause batching cycle: pauses the batch cycle. This operation can be made only while extracting the material; to interrupt the discharge in the truckmixer it is necessary to run the STOP DISCHARGE command. Continue batching cycle: re-starts the previously paused cycle. Cycle stop: stops the cycle at the end of the sub-cycle being run. Total abort: interrupts the cycle and all sub-cycles drastically. This command works only if the plant is PAUSED. Cancel waiting formula: it cancels the formula waiting on the PLC; if there are deliveries ready to be made the automatic start of the deliveries is disabled. Cyclogram: displays the cyclogram for the load in progress Water Enables to make operation on the water batching, such as pausing or cancelling it, etc. Discharge

It can be:

Automatic = automatic scale discharge setting Manual = manual scale discharge setting Displays the discharge criteria Continued by operator = continues the material discharge phase Start discharge with sequence Start scales discharge Stop scales discharge Accept discharge end End discharge phase = ends the current discharge phase of a scale Filters The Filter menu allows manual commands for the filters in the plant. For each filter it is possible to set the automatic/manual operation, the start and the stop. The filter status is displayed in a table in the main page; the working filters are green. It is possible to control the start/stop manually clicking the single item.

Last Formula This function enables to Start the batching using the data set in the last cycle run, applying the set values (m³, cycles, formula, etc.). Formula Data The function "Formula data +",can be accessed from the Batch menu and displays the main parameters for moisture, formula data, room temperature and moisture in the cycle phase. To enable the data change, press the suitable button. The window is divided in areas for managing the following data:

13

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Not Compensated Formula: displays the setting data for the formula in progress, without possible moisture corrections. The data cannot be changed for the formula in progress. Probe: indicates the probe associated with the aggregate. Probes/Manual: displays the value for the moisture measured for each single aggregate using the probe, updated every time the read moisture is accepted automatically by the system or manually by the operator. Last cycle: displays the last value read by the probe automatically, if enabled, or the value manually entered by the operator if the probe is not enabled to work automatically. To be used: the value of the automatic reading by the moisture detection probes can be changed if an alarm of "moisture reading out of tolerance" occurs. It is possible to change the reading by the probes with a value manually entered for each aggregate. If a plant is not equipped with moisture detection probes it is possible to use this function to re-calculate the water and the aggregates according to the manual values set by the operator. Abs. H2O %: informs the system on the percentage of water absorption by each single aggregate to display the quantity of water absorbed in the cycle end data. This value does not affect the calculation of the water in the aggregates, therefore it does not involve changes in the quantity of aggregates to batch; the water to batch will be instead corrected according to the absorbed quantity. Further, if the setting "Compensates aggregate moisture with absorption " (configuration bit 59) is not active, it does not affect the calculation of the water/cement ratio of the batch. Instantaneous readout: it is possible to select a probe and check the instantaneous value of moisture, temperature: it enables to record the value of room moisture and temperature during the batch process. This can be obtained manually and automatically (if the specific sensors are installed). The weight value of the single aggregate is re-calculated at each batch depending on the moisture value set by the operator or read by the probe, correcting the water to batch suitably. The automatic use of the moisture probes depends on the definition of the probe/aggregate association and on the definition of the used probe type (in scale or in hopper). The reset button enables to accept the moisture tolerance alarm.

Delivery notes

14

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

New concrete delivery note This function enables to enter a new outcoming note mainly consisting in concrete and, therefore, associated with a formula (and possibly a batch cycle run automatically). The system checks the presence of a loading in progress, a delivery or cycle data without associated note, and suggests to the operator the information of the relevant loading. In this way it is possible to associate the note at the creation to an already existing delivery (in progress, waiting or already made) or to an already ended cycle. Only the most recent delivery and cycle without associated note will be suggested; to associate a new note to a previous delivery or cycle select the relevant function from the deliveries archive or from the cycle data archive. If there is no cycle without associated note, or if the operator does not accept the association suggested by the system, he can choose to enter a sales note without making any batch cycle. New material delivery note This function enables to enter a new delivery note consisting in raw materials (loose products). The raw materials delivery notes have a progressive numbering different from the concrete delivery notes. Custom lists This page enables to set custom lists for the following delivery note fields: appearance of the goods (concrete) description weather conditions work use If you want to set a default value, tick the "Def" column.

General preferences This function enables to set the management aspects for the outcoming deliveries notes for all configurations. Configuration Enables to change the configuration of the delivery notes, the general preferences and the arrangement of the fields in the delivery note.

15

Concrete delivery notes-Raw material delivery notes It is possible to display the recent delivery notes and those in the archive, to change, re-print, confirm and cancel them.

Formulas

Formula The list of the formulas is sorted by number; click on the column heading to sort it by code or by name. For searching, write the initial letters of the formula you are looking for: the selection bar will move according to the letters keyed in and the active sorting. To confirm the selection, press the confirmation button. This page contains all data needed to identify the formula and its parameters. The formula number is assigned automatically while entering (first number available in archive) and cannot be changed. The formula code is usually an internal company acronym, that identifies the product type to be obtained. The formula name is usually an identification acronym of the product type to be obtained, e.g. RC35/45 S3 D30 XF3 Product code and name identify the commercial product associated with the formula. To enter or change constituents, click the wished box in the column "Constituent" and select the component from the drop-down menu; then set the quantity to batch for one cubic meter in the column "Set" according to the displayed unit of measurement. To remove a constituent from the formula set its quantity to zero. The button "%" enables to calculate automatically a batch in percentage on cement; select a constituent, go to the quantity box and press "%": then enter the percentage (referred to the same unit of measurement of cement). The parameters resistance class, exposition class, consistency, max. aggregate diameter, slump, cement class, cement type, batch, formula type, volume mass, additions, water/cement ratio, chlorides content and note identify the product type depending on characteristics to be indicated on the delivery note.

The image below is an example of a formula entered in Betonwin 3:

Print Enables to print one or more formulas. Select the initial formula, then press the confirmation button. Select the final formula, then press the confirmation button to start printing.

Change codes Enables to change an already existing constituent code with a new one inside the formula archive. This function is useful when the code of one of the constituents entered in the formula is changed. If the formulas already in the archive are compatible also for a new constituent, rewriting or changing singularly all formulas can be avoided using this function. Enter the code to be updated (current code) the new code and then press the confirmation button.

Configuration This page enables to set the items of the drop-down menus associated with the following formula fields: Cement class Batch Consistency class

17

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Exposition class Slump Cement type Resistance class Max. aggregate diameter

PLC current formula Access this page from the formula menu or by clicking the box in the main page showing the summary data of the formula. Code, name, unit of measurement, set for one m³, theoretical set for sub-cycle, theoretical set corrected according to moisture and quantity currently batched are displayed for each constituent. The moisture detected values are displayed for the aggregates. Variable data are updated in real time. If a formula waiting on the PLC is displayed, a specific button enables to cancel it; if there are deliveries ready to be made the automatic start of the deliveries is disabled.

Parameters

18

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Extractors

Setting of the work parameters of the batching components, such as:

Percentage tolerance:tolerance value expressed in percentage on the total of the product to batch. This value represents the max. difference (more or less) that can be accepted by the automation on the constituent weighing. For example, if a tolerance value of 20% has been set, the program will accept detected values not higher than 1200 kg and not lower than 800 kg on a 1000 kg weighing. Absolute tolerance:tolerance value expressed in the unit of measurement of the extractor (kg for aggregates, l for water, etc. ). It represents the max. difference (more or less) that can be accepted by the automation on the constituent weighing. For example, if a tolerance value of 20 kg has been set, the program will accept detected values not higher than 1020 kg and not lower than 980 kg on a 1000 kg weighing. Flight:defines the quantity of material (in the unit of measurement of the extractor) that is still falling between the extraction mouth and the scale when the mouth is closed. For example, if 1000 kg are being extracted and a flight of 20 kg has been set, the automation will close the mouth when the scale signals 980 kg, considering that the material in flight (supposed as 20 kg) will allow the correct weighing to be reached. Slow:represents the quantity of product to batch at slow speed. The value is expressed in the unit of measurement of the extractor and is used by the system to reach suitable weighing accuracy. SPILL: enables to obtain a better weighing accuracy during the batch (particularly of aggregates) in the shortest possible time, with a series of timed openings and closings.

19

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Spill is divided in two phases: a proportional one and a fixed one. Scales Settings of the working parameters of the scales, among which the following can be configured: Tare:weight value corresponding to the empty scale. For each scale, this value represents the end of the discharge and enables to start a new cycle. Full scale: indicates the max. capacity of the scale. When the sum of the weights set for that scale exceeds this value, the computer divides the cycle in several sub-cycles.

BATCHING VIBRATION / DISCHARGE Increase time:indicates the TEST time during which the difference of the material weight is sampled in the scale (sec). This parameter is associated with the increase weight parameter. Increase weight:indicates the min. weight difference in the scale (kg) that must be recorded in the Test time. This parameter is associated with the increase time parameter. Time ON:indicates the duration of the vibrator command, when automatically activated by the system. Time OFF:indicates the pause between vibrator commands, when automatically activated by the system. Vibration parameter operation: these two parameters are reciprocally linked to manage the operation of the vibrators automatically. Example: increase time = 3.0 increase weight = 50 If there is no weight difference of 50 kg in the time of 3.0 seconds under these conditions, the vibrators are activated with the times set in the parameters Time ON and Time OFF. Emptying time:indicates the emptying time of the scale discharging components (aggregates: extractor belt; cements: scale valve; etc... ). The discharge components still move from the signal of scale in tare (that is, empty) for the time set to guarantee the line emptying.

20

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Discharge end time:indicates the emptying time of the components considered after the scales (aggregates: sloping belt; cements: screw; etc... ). Plant Settings of the working parameters of the plant (belts, signals, etc.…) Setup The working printers of the plant for delivery notes or general documents are set. Extraction sequences The extraction sequences enable to optimize the material batching during the cycle. It is possible to customize each formula depending on its characteristics. The largest working flexibility is guaranteed with this type of management: you can choose for each scale which constituents are to be extracted and how.. The extraction sequences of the products divided by each scale are shown in this area. Discharge sequences The discharge sequences enable to optimize the discharge of the materials batched in the cycle in the truckmixer or in the mixer. The discharge sequence is identified by a unique code that can be used to select the same sequence. It is also possible to add a name useful to identify the sequence according to its intended use. The discharge sequences are featured by the organization in phases. Passing from a phase to the next depends on completing all conditions set inside the same phase (excluding those of the scales that include a released discharge). The whole of the conditions of a phase is identified by the setting of phase end on the last of these conditions. The expected setting parameters are listed below. Scale: scale to be discharged in the considered phase. The setting Pause, combined with a time or a phase end by operator, enables to put the discharge in stand-by for the set time or until the operator consent. The setting All enables to discharge all scales at the same time. Percentage to be discharged: indicates the percentage of material to be discharged from the selected scale. If the discharge percentage and the discharge time are present at the same time, the system considers the latter as the min. time for a phase: after discharging the set percentage, the system checks if the time has elapsed and, if it has not, it waits before passing to the next phase. If an aggregate pre-load or a skip are present, the parameter refers to this and not to the aggregate scale; the percentage can be set only as 100%. Discharge time: indicates the discharge time for the material from the selected scale. This is useful above all if there is a pre-load which does not have a continuous level signal (like a scale) and therefore does not allow a percentage to be used. If the discharge percentage and the discharge time are present at the same time, the system considers the latter as the min. time for a phase: after discharging the set percentage, the

21

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

system checks if the time has elapsed and, if it has not, it waits before passing to the next phase. If an aggregate pre-load or a skip is present, the parameter indicates the time to spend for discharging the material from such component and not from the aggregate scale. NOTE: the parameter must be considered as a time during which the discharge function remains active. Advance:the scale to be discharged in advanced, before the general batching cycle end, is chosen in this field. The possible selections are: Advance: the discharge will start as soon as the scale reaches the cycle end condition; if the batching occurs while discharging, the start will be immediate. After moisture: referred exclusively to the water discharge (if with a liter counter) and enables to start the batching after acquiring the moisture of the last aggregate probe. No selection: the scale discharge will start only at the end of the general batching cycle, namely when the weighing of all scales - excluding those batching during the discharge (example: water, if with liter counter) - is ended. Synchronization The synchronized discharge needs the presence of a Master scale and of a Slave scale in the same phase and indicates the possibility to end the emptying (total or partial depending on the settings) of two scales in the same moment. The first must be the one emptying more slowly, so that the faster second scale can end the emptying at the same time (closing and re-opening the discharge depending on the weight discharged by the master scale and with a tolerance constant that can be set to avoid the Slave balance to open and close the discharge too fast). The Discharge step synchronism tolerance constant (available in the General parameters menu) is used to adjust the Slave scale discharge, checking the percentage discharged by the Slave and by the Master: when the first one discharges for a value higher that the setting of the second one the discharge is stopped and resumes when it is the second one that has discharged a percentage higher than the constant compared to the first one. NOTE: the synchronized discharge needs also a percentage of material to be discharged (also set the Discharge percentage parameter). Released: means that when the discharge has started it will not intervene anymore in the phase end conditions, rather it will continue separately until completing its own settings. Emptying: indicates that in the phase the scale must discharge completely and thus it has the same meaning as a setting of 100 in the percentage.

22

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Phase end The possible selections are: End: determines the last condition present and thus ends the whole of the operations to be performed in the current phase. The passage to the next phase will take place when all settings will be satisfied. Consent: determines the last condition present and thus ends the whole of the operations to be performed in the current phase. The passage to the next phase will take place when all settings are satisfied and only upon a command by the operator ("Continued by operator" in the Batch-Discharge menu). No selection: this phase will be carried out simultaneously with the next phase/s.

Consistency check A perfect water/cement ratio can be guaranteed only using devices suitably devised to assess the actual water in the final mix, such as slump meters (measuring the power absorbed by the mixer while mixing or parameterizing the pressure gauge installed on the truckmixer) and hygrometers (using further probes in the mixer or in the truckmixer). The software can control devices measuring the mix consistency, such as: wattmeter hygrometer pressure sensors I.S.M. system Using the consistency check table (in the Parameters menu) you can set the data for each consistency class. Parameters to be configured if the plant manages the I.S.M. system time/rev number: indicates the min. revolution number in time to define the mix homogeneous. max. water before/after: indicates the water max. limit (through the tank on the truckmixer) to be added before or after the mix is defined homogeneous.

The consistency check must be set on each formula. When the operator launches a loading, the system acknowledges the check type to be made. Silo In this area it is possible to associate the materials to the extractors and to set the manual components available. Data such as supply and max. capacity, used by Betonwin 3 to determine the consumption and the stock of the various materials/products of the plant. Users and accesses

Events analysis This function enables to display at the same time the information of the event log, alarms history and cyclogram. In this way it is possible to analyze in details what has happened in the plant.

Preventive maintenance The PLC keeps the number of operations and/or working time of each plant element updated. A few components are pre-set for each element (e.g. solenoid valve, actuator, probe) that can be linked to the same element and thus have the same wear; the various components can anyway be subject to a different maintenance and are therefore independent. Use the Enter button to add a new component to the selected element. Backup It enables to make a backup of all archives, of the assistance disk or to program an automatic backup of the PC-PLC plant data. Restore Use this function to restore the data previously filed with the backup of the areas and of the PLC program of the saved archives.

About Displaying of program data displaying (PC version- PLC version) and plant identification (License number - Key number - Job order). How to batch automatically

First of all start an automatic batch, set the discharge and the automatic plant batch on the bottom left.

On the top left, go to Batch-Start:

29

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

Select the formula from the list and confirm with the green button on the bottom left:

The formula to be set is fully displayed after selecting it. Set the quantity in cubic meters (supposing that the stored formula relates to a volume of one cubic meter). It is also possible to set the following data: recycled water percentage truckmixer associated with the loading possible water in the truckmixer possible cubic meters returned in the truckmixer room temperature

Other parameters used for dividing the cycle in more sub-cycles are: the "Max. quantity to be extracted from each hopper" (see product parameters), the full scales (see scale parameters) and the max. mixer capacity for a batch. It is also possible to indicate a max. quantity/subcycle in this step. If an extraction and/or discharge sequence other than those preset or indicated in the formula is to be set, use the specific buttons.

How to display the batch report for manual and automatic cycles

The "Batch reports" function enables to display for every day all production cycles made, and for each cycle it is possible to display and/or print the characteristic data of the examined cycle. The printout of the data of a whole day is also possible. The cycle data are taken from the data acquired by the PLC at the end of the cycle. Data are divided by month, day and cycle. Each cycle records the data of: Record date and time, cycle duration Batch formula and formula characteristic data Associated delivery note and reference data Names and codes of the batch products Batch data: set for cubic meter, theoretical sets corrected and batched quantities Moisture detected in the aggregates, water calculated in the aggregates, absorption water Detail for water and cycle parameter To display the cycle data reports, enter the Stock-Batch reports:

Set month and year (entering them directly or using the suitable buttons). To go to the date selection, press ENTER or the confirmation button. The list displays all the dates of the selected month for which cycle data are available in the archive; select the wished date and press ENTER of the confirmation button. If you want to print all cycle data of the selected date, press the print button. The list in the bottom of the window displays all loads of the selected date; to examine the data cycle in details select the wished loading and press ENTER of the confirmation button.

Preparation of a concrete delivery note

36

ELETTRONDATA S.r.l – BETONWIN III - rel. 1.0

This function enables to enter a new outcoming note mainly consisting in concrete and, therefore, associated with a formula (and possibly a batch cycle run automatically). Go to Delivery notes-New concrete delivery note:

Set all relevant fields in the concrete delivery note, both in the first and in the second page:
