Crochet Pattern By Galina Stelmakhova Skill level: Easy
About this pattern
Doll in a skeleton outfit Materials and tools
The toy is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. You will need a stitch marker to keep track of where the beginning of each round starts. Move the marker up to the first stitch of the next round after finishing the previous one. If you don't have a stitch marker you can always use a scrap of contrasting yarn instead. You can see it in my photos.
ü Any yarn in white and black colors. I used “Jeans” by YARNART
I use USA terminology for my pattern (don’t worry if you use UK terms, all the differences are explained in the pattern).
ü Transparent glue;
(55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 160m/50g) – 20 g of black, 15 g of white TIP: If you need exactly the same yarn here is the shop where you can find it https://www.etsy.com/de/shop/LittleOwlsHutRUSSIAN ü Matching crochet hook (I used 1.75 mm crochet hook); ü Two black beads or half beads for the eyes (I used 7 mm in diameter); ü Any stuffing; ü Tapestry needle; ü Single core copper electrical wire – I used approximately 40 cm (15.7 inches) of wire 1.5 mm in diameter; ü Fabric tape 1 cm wide to work up the wire ends; ü A piece of thick cardboard or plastic for the insoles; ü Black and white embroidery thread for the mouth and stitches; ü Small amount of brown color yarn to embroider the hair (optional);
Finished size
ü Sewing pins.
Finished size approx. 15 cm (5.9 inches) tall using the materials stated in the pattern.

Tip (make it right) If there are no special notes, the toy is crocheted under both parts of the loop. In some rows, there are special notes: ‘into the front loop only’ or ‘into the back loop only’. In that case, you need to follow these instructions.
Crochet pattern 2017
Tip (make it right) When making toys the right side looks like this:
And the backside looks like this:
Abbreviations ch(s) = chain(s) st(s) = stitch(es) sl st = slip stitch sc(s) = single crochet(s) inc(s) = increasing(s) (2 sc in 1 st) tr = treble (triple) crochet dec(s) = decreasing(s) (2 sc together) dc = double crochet Rnd = round If there is a record in the brackets in the pattern, multiplied by some number, for example (3 sc, 1 inc) x 3, it means you need to repeat this action 3 times, that is 3 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc, 1 inc.
TIP (yarn and wire) If you use different yarn, the toy will be bigger or smaller and you will need more or less yarn and wire than stated in the pattern (i.e. thicker yarn will produce a larger toy and you may require more yarn and wire). If you decide to use thicker yarn you should buy thicker wire as well. The thicker your yarn the taller the toy will be. Tip (gauge) When making toys, you should use a much smaller hook than recommended for the yarn you choose. Make sure you crochet tight enough; otherwise, the stuffing will show through the holes.
USA/UK terminology comparison chart. Abbreviations USA ch - chain sc - single crochet hdc - half double crochet dc - double crochet tr - treble (triple crochet) dtr - double treble sl st - slip stitch

Assembling Stuff the body. Pin and sew the body to the head. Adjust the stuffing before making the final stitches. Weave in loose ends.
Try the arms on. Cut extra wire if needed. Work up wire ends with fabric tape and put the arms onto the wire again. Sew the arms onto the body.
Find the right position for the legs. If you have made wire frame for the legs, run wire ends into the body. I inserted the wire of each leg 3 rounds to the left and 3 rounds to the right of the body’s Rnd 1. Sew the legs onto the body. Weave in loose ends. Cut a piece of wire: the length of the piece = (the length of the arm)x2 + the width of the body Insert the wire into the body on the level of the arms. I did it two rounds down from the neck.
