Honour your food with your attention!

Eating quickly or when you feel stressed is a recipe for digestive disaster! Make it a habit to take a moment of silence before you eat your meal. Sit down, place your hands on your belly, and take five deep breaths into your belly. So your nervous system will calm down and allow your digestive system to get ready for work. Plant-based whole foods are both nutrient-dense and the easiest to be broken down for your impaired digestive system. Aim for cutting your consumption of animal products to half or more while you are healing your gut.

Cows do not have constipation or other digestive problems. They master what I call the “grazing technique.” Instead of eating three large meals per day, try out to eat more frequent and in smaller portions. This helps your stomach acid to break down foods, saves digestive enzymes, and lowers the risk of having food rotting in your gut due to an impaired digestive force.

To stimulate your digestion and improve absorption, juice 1/2 lemon into 3 ounces (100 ml) of water 15 minutes before having your meal.

Processed foods often cause inflammation and irritation throughout your body. Whole foods on the other side, help to heal your gut and nourish your body with bio-available minerals and vitamins.

Instead of browsing Facebook while eating or chatting away your lunch break, make it a habit to eat in silence without any distraction from your delicious meal.
