Little Luce Crochet pattern

Materials: :

For Luce and the bunny :

4 different color yarns (to crochet the head/body/shoes)- I use cotton yarn 8/4 2,25 mm or 2,5 mm crochet hook (depending on your tension) Needles for sewing up A small amount of black yarn to embroider the eyes Sport weight soft yarn (mohair or alpaca style) for hat and hair

2,75 or 3 mm crochet hook for the hat 2 different color yarns for the overalls and the bunny (cotton or wool yarn 8/4) Polyester toy stuffing

The finished doll (using the materials listed) measure approximately 26 cm. And the little bunny 8 cm.

Stitches and abbreviations: This pattern uses American standard abbreviations

Each piece is crocheted in a continuous spiral, not in joined rounds, starting off with a magic loop. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round (a piece of contrasting yarn can be used if you don’t have any stitch markers). At the end of each line, you will find the number of stitches you should have in brackets. Legs, body and head are worked in a single piece (bottom-up). Please ensure that you stuff your doll firmly as you go. I used a thin wooden stick to stuff the smaller pieces. Always change your yarn in the last step of the last stitch.

Crochet the 2nd leg in the same way but crochet one round more (rank 30) and do not fasten off, continue on with the body.

For more stability in the neck, you can slide a chenille wire into the opening. Embroider the eyes at round 10 with of 11 stitches between them.

Fill stuffing into the hand only, using a fine stick. Flatten the arms and close the opening with sc. Fasten off, leave a tail to sew the arms onto the body at row 22.

Finish the work with a slst, cut the yarn and sew it well. Crochet the second boots in the same way.

Hat : (Work with soft mohair or alpaca yarn and 2,75 mm crochet hook) The brim of the hat is crocheted in rows and the main part of the hat in rounds.

The brim : By crocheting in the back loop only, you can create a ribbing effect: 7ch, (starting in the 2nd ch from hook), 6sc, 1ch, turn BLO 6sc, 1ch, turn (54 rows) At the top of the brim, we are going to continue crocheting the main part of the hat in rounds with sc. Pick up the 54 stitches of the top of the brim (this is your first row) and crochet the rest of the hat- working in the round as follows: 2-9

Close the hole by weaving through the front loop only, then pull the yarn tightly. Fasten off and weave in ends. Sew the opening of the ribs. ✴ The hat is naturally a little "big" to give a style to the doll.

Don’t stuff the ears. Flatten the ears and close the opening with sc. Fold the end together and sew the edge (see photo). Fasten off, leave a tail to sew the ears onto the hat at row 12 with of 5 stitches between them. Crochet the second ear in the same way.

Hair : (with yarn of your choice) Braids: Cut 12 strands of yarn, 15 cm long and form two braids using 6 strands for each braid. Fringe: Cut 12 strands of yarn, 10 cm long (6 for each side) and 2 other strands, 8 cm long (fold in half) to form the fringe. Position the braids at the side and the other hair on top of the doll’s head (as pictured), sew into place with a needle. Then pop the doll’s cap on and style hair as pictured. Once you are happy with the look sew the doll’s cap onto her head.

The ribbon around the neck : (with the same yarn) 56 ch. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook: 54sc along the chain. Fasten off and weave in ends. Make two pompom about 3 cm in diameter and sew it at the ends. The ribbon can be attached by a stitch to the back of the hat or simply tie around the neck.

Overalls : (Work with coton or alpaga yarn and 2,25 mm hook). It will be crocheted first in rows, then in rounds. 1
