I hope this transcription helps you learn this fantastic solo. Like with any transcription this score only communicates the raw detail of the notes played - the musicality, expression and phrasing will only come through listening carefully to the original. Notes: Most of the fast runs are based on blues and pentatonic scales. It will help to be familiar with the major pentatonic scale in A and E and the E blues scale. This piece utilises pitch bend heavily and whilst some of the effects can be created with use of grace notes playing on a keyboard with a pitch joystick or wheel is essential for bend and vibrato authenticity. Due to the large volume of grace notes and their improvised nature these have been ommited from the score. Some have been included in the first key to help but the best way to tackle these is simply to listen and know the solo inside out. Enjoy!
