02 The Mindset of Success Congratulations on starting your YouTube journey, this will prove to be the single most important step towards achieving your goals and dream life. Mindset is a very overlooked part of every successful person, no matter what industry you look at, everyone from top athletes to the richest businessmen has at least one thing in common, their mindset. Some people believe that success comes from something special, something that not everyone has. I am here today to tell you that is nowhere near the truth. People who are successful, or as they are commonly known, rich people, do not get their most desired wealth and success through a simple talent of theirs, what they do is provide value to society. How do you provide value? Well simply put you must outwork everyone else and offer some value to society, no matter what area of work you are in. This value that successful and rich people provide to society is then rewarded by money, society rewards value with currency.

This is why when you want to become a successful entrepreneur you must first focus on bringing value. 03 Creating an Optimized Channel Creating a channel on YouTube is pretty simple. All you need is to create a Gmail account and then go to YouTube to make a channel. But the red carpets have not rolled yet. There’s a lot of work ahead. First, you have to choose a brand-new name for the channel. The name usually depends on the niche that you intend to specialize in. The next step is to verify your account using your phone number. Validating your account will let you upload longer videos and upload thumbnails to your videos which are essential for your video CTR.

Logo and Banner: Having a channel logo and banner is quintessential to creating a YouTube brand. It helps make your channel look credible. Your channel logo and banner should all have a similar design. The color code should be the same, and their design must look stylish yet professional. It is crucial that your channel art is congruent with your content and makes sense. People are less likely to subscribe if the channel is all over the place. It is also a good idea to write a short description in which you tell viewers what your channel is about and what content you will be uploading. Although this is a tricky one, you should give your audience an uploading schedule as well. Be careful, though, as it can work against you if you slack off. The final step is the channel tags. This category can help tell YouTube what your channel will be about. If used effectively, Channel tags can help you get more exposure, and your videos will rank higher on YouTube.

04 Creating a Successful Name

Creating a successful channel name needs as much attention as anything else. After all, the name will have to carry your brand for a long time. The more creative you get, the better it will usually be. However, don’t go overboard.

Firstly, it must be correlated with your niche. The easiest way of getting good names is by writing down your niche. Then you have to write down another word that complements your niche. For example, if your channel is about Health, you can come up with, Central Health, Health Nation, Health World, Health Delivered, etc. If your channel is about fast food, you can come up with something like McCooking, MoodForFood, etc. Don’t name it Vegetarian Fooding. (unless of course, it’s about that). Another example of a Top10 niche channel could be Trendy Top10s. The name has to strike a message telling the audience what the brand is about. It should also be catchy and fun to stay in the audience’s mind. I have seen plenty of Film niche channels with Gaming names. A bad name hinders your success in the long run, so it is best if you think thoroughly before making it official.

05 Learn SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is an essential tool that you will need to rank your content on YouTube organically. Mastering SEO goes hand in hand with making your content appear on the search engine. Anyone can publish a video, but making it appear on the top of the search engine is what really matters.

To understand this, you have to understand that YouTube is the second largest search engine in the entire world. There are more than 5 billion views a day and 300 hours of video uploaded EVERY MINUTE. With these insane numbers, it is tough for people to distinguish themselves. The algorithm needs to know who your audience is and why they should suggest your content to them. For that very reason, the algorithm classifies content based on keywords to recommend the videos to your target audience. YouTube takes into account the data that you have in your video scripts, descriptions, video tags and channel tags. To rank on YouTube as a new channel, you need to first rank in low competition, high search volume topics. Big channels will always have better opportunities than you to rank on high competition search terms. So, it would be best if you planted your feet on lower competition first. Make sure to aim for high search volume so that you can still get traffic. A great way to achieve this is to use a Chrome Extension called TubeBuddy or VidIQ. You can install both if you prefer. These extensions give us a score and statistics of each search term or keyword that people search for on YouTube. This way, you can figure out what are the best keywords or search terms to rank for.

06 Planning Content: The 35 Rule Not only do you have to create your content, but you also have to plan how to develop and publish it. Smart working is always better than hard working. The first step towards planning your content on YouTube will begin by doing proper and thorough keyword research. Your main task will be to plan at least 35 videos that you can upload on your channel. Use TubeBuddy or VidIQ for SEO and look for search terms and keywords with low competition and high search volume. Create a list of all the content you can put out and plan your videos accordingly. The difference between planning your videos and making them on the fly is night and day. The whole system is a lot more organized, and you don’t overstress yourself with work if you plan things ahead.

07 Scheduling: The 2W Rule Scheduling is an essential part of uploading videos on YouTube. YouTube is a long-term game, and if you’re in it to make some short-term cash, sooner or later, you’re going to shut down your own channel and move on. Until you have a long-term mindset, it is unlikely for you to prosper. It does not matter what you achieve in one week, but it does matter what you can in 6 months. For that same reason, it does not matter if you upload five videos this week if you’re not uploading more than two videos next week. I’ve said it countless times, and I’ll repeat it; Consistency and Scheduling is the secret to long term success. YouTube itself encourages creators to be consistent and provide good content in a constant flow. You should always upload in a regular schedule. If you upload five videos a week, you should always upload five videos a week. Similarly, if you upload ten videos a week, you should always keep up that number.

However, YouTube doesn’t just reward consistency with how many videos one uploads in a week. The algorithm also wants you to upload a minimum number of videos every week: The 2W Rule. The 2W rule states that you must always upload at least two videos a week. YouTube doesn’t reward you with impressions and views if you don’t manage to upload the minimum number of videos. Not to mention, it’ll take too much time to get productive statistics if you don’t upload more than two videos a week.

08 Keys of Video Creation Content creation is an immensely valuable skill needed to succeed in YouTube. If you intend to be the content creator for your channel, you’ll have to be very good at making professional videos. But that alone is not usually enough. YouTube Videos need to meet certain aspects and keys to appeal to your target audience. These little tidbits help one achieve insane statistics. What are these tidbits you ask…? Let us explain: • Use short intros and outros to make sure the audience retention is not hurt • Try using a high-energy voice actor that will keep the viewers engaged • Use a CTA (Call to Action) to make people subscribe to your channel. However, don’t be too blunt • Use short clips to avoid copyright • DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT, use copyrighted music or clips. You don’t want to get into any trouble • Make sure the effects and transition look professional and visually stimulating.

09 How to Get your First 1000 Subscribers

I often get many people in my Instagram DMs asking me how they can reach their first 1000 subscribers. This is usually the first milestone that every aspiring YouTuber strives for. This also serves as the first hurdle that becomes an eye-opener for those unwilling to put in the hard work. Getting your first 1000 subscribers may seem impossible, but it is relatively easy once you understand the processes, systems and how to apply them.

Firstly, you must consider that what you do will not provide linear results, but it will provide exponential results. What does that mean? Have a look at the example below: • • • •

1st month: 100 subscribers 2nd month: 500 subscribers 3rd month: 3000 subscribers 4th month: 8000 subscribers

Do you see the pattern? Most of the results you see on YouTube are exponential. That means you won’t see profitable results directly. Instead, your efforts will be visible in an exponential manner in due time. The key thing to understand is that efforts made now will have very little reward in the short term. It is only through achieving consistency that the future breed insane rewards. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. An hour invested into YouTube may seem like it has no reward, but you are making your future hours ridiculously rewarding. Eventually, you will reach a moment in which you won’t even have to invest more than 2 hours a week on a channel that brings you $ 30,000 a month. It sounds crazy right…? But it’s true. That is the insane amount of rewards you can reap from grinding at the start. That is why it is worth!

10 The 40 Rule Remember how we mentioned consistency previously. YouTube will not care about you if you just make one video. They will only care about you if you constantly push highquality videos into their platform. Many people have been searching for the “right” number to reach after which YouTube would start pushing your content to your target audience. The most common answer found is 33 videos. The 33 rule states that you should upload at least 33 videos before making significant changes in your channel or videos. By the time you have reached that point, you should already have started seeing promising results. Although the rule is quite effective, my personal experience suggests 40 videos to be the sweet spot. At this point, previous videos will most likely have way more than enough time to show accurate statistics, and you will also have more videos to base your calculations on. On the short term, it may be problematic if you end up having to change critical factors in your channel such as a different content creator, theme and whatnot.

BUT it is a better result for the long term as having more data can lead to searching for a better content creator knowing the pros and cons of your current videos. In YouTube, always aim for the long term. It may be grueling, but it is also equally rewarding!

11 The YPC Formula Now let’s talk about the golden success formula. The YPC Formula. It is the single most rewarding tool that has allowed me to scale my YouTube channels Ad Revenue, external monetization revenue, views, subscribers, and helped me quadruple the number of videos uploaded every week while automating them. So, what is the YPC formula? YPC stands for YouTube Plus Content Creators. It is almost impossible for anyone to scale their channels revenue, start new channels, upload multiple videos a day, scale different channel views, Ad Revenue and manage external monetization all at the same time. Doing all of these on your own compromises the most consuming task present in any YouTube channel. Creating content. There is no way you will ever be able to progress your business without scaling it.

The key thing to understand is that most of the money you earn at the beginning must be invested back into your YouTube business in order to be automated. It is also impossible to run multiple channels while managing everything at 100% capacity. So here is the secret. You don’t have to create all the content by yourself. Delegating content creation is the smartest way to operate on YouTube. You can find excellent content creators on freelance websites such as Fiverr, Peopleperhour and Upwork. You’ll have to find content creators that can make complete videos on your niche. You’ll have to pay 30 - 70$ for each video with the thumbnail, but it’ll be worth it. Considering the 2W rule, you should invest at least 200-500$ a month on your channel to automate it. Just remember that the more videos you upload while maintaining a high standard of content, the earlier you will achieve success on the platform.

12 Secrets of Monetization It is well known that every YouTuber needs to reach 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time before their channel can be monetized. However, once you do reach that threshold, you will have the opportunity to connect an AdSense account and monetize your videos. Provided there are no channel strikes or issues with copyrighted videos.

Boom, passive income. The majority of content creators out there believe that is the only way to earn money on YouTube. However, another useful tool to add to your earning is External Monetization. Although, it isn’t as passive as Ad Revenue because you have to set it up in every video, but external monetization can be way more powerful than Ad Revenue. Not only can you earn way more money with it, but it also compliments very well with Ad Revenue. The topping on the cake is that adding external monetization to your videos doesn’t replace Ad Revenue. So, you are basically doubling or tripling your videos’ profit from both ends. 13 What to Avoid in YouTube YouTube is an insanely lucrative business, but you need to be a good YouTube “citizen” if you intend to stick around. The first thing to do is to go through the Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and all sorts of Terms and Conditions before you start your own channel. If you violate the law in your country, you will be punished with penalty fees or incarceration. Similarly, if you violate the YouTube’s Community and Monetization Guidelines, you won’t be able to monetize your videos, upload for a certain period of time or, in extreme cases, even get your channel permanently banned from the platform. YouTube will only let you operate on their platform and earn money if you fully respect their guidelines and terms of use. For ease of access, we’ve covered some points that should be in the back of your mind: • Never use bots to grow your accounts • Never use bots to comment on videos • Never spam comments or write very similar comments (spam can be punished with a permanent ban)

• Never insult or threaten anybody. It is morally and ethically wrong. Not to mention YouTube doesn’t want you to harm its community. This can also result in a permanent ban • Never cover porn, sex, violence or politics in your videos. YouTube prefers that these topics don’t appear on their database. They don’t support the content being made on these niches, and you are less likely to get monetized on these topics • Never show any nudity on your videos or thumbnails • Never cover sex-related topics • Don’t swear or use harmful words • Don’t spam the same videos over and over • Don’t spam your channel on other videos or people’s comments • Don’t use copyrighted music or footage in your videos As a rule of thumb, go through all of these points until you know them by heart. If you can’t manage to get them all right, your content will not stay in the platform for long.
