Parker traveled to Hollywood to pursue screenwriting. Her success there , including 2 Academy Awards nominations, were curtailed when her involvement in leftwing politics resulted in her being placed on the Hollywood blacklist. The key-sentence summing up the central idea is about Mr.and Mrs. Weldon ,two spouses, who have been living for 7 years together . They have moved in a new apartment and both of them don’t like it . Even if they were talkative with others, when they were alone it was just silence between them .This continued for everyday until Mrs. Weldon told everything to her husband and got divorced. The title -Too bad- emphasizes the situation between the two spouses being too bad . “Too” shows the problem that went for to long without making it up. Between a friendship a good communication is the key of keeping a good relationship,but the plot is centered around the lack of communication they have . The main problem is showed by the way the 2 characters behave with eachother . For instance, Mr.Weldon didn’t liked the light from the kitchen, but never told his wife , as well , when dinner time came, they had a really small conversation ... “ Tomato soup , you like it , don’t you ? \ Who me ? Oh yes , YES indeed...” We can conclude how little they know about each other. The narrator describes in the text the way those two felt “in love “ . It seems that with others Mr. Weldon was a talkative person , but left with his wife , he didn’t had what to talk about .In that part of the text the author’s vision emphasizes that Mrs. Weldon felt in love with Enrst’s personality when he was around his friends. The climax of the text is presented when Mrs.Weldon is wondering what all the couples have to talk about “ What dis married people talk about,anyway, when they were alone together. An important part of the text is when she realizes the gap they both have in their relationship. “A thing like that gets on your nerves “ speaking about the lack of communication. It is sure that Mr. Weldon “already “ was felling uncomfortable in the relationship she was . The writer’s manner of viewing the action affords the writer the posibility of introducing us to the thoughts of both Mrs. and Mr . Weldon are guilty for the gap in their relationship, that leads us to the point that after 7 years of marriage and a bad communication between them there were no other way but just to get divorce . Taking all things into account the story “Too Bad” by Dorothy Parker is a good example for those who find their selves in the same kind of relationship, to make sure they find a way to escape from this way of living their lives.

It’s a simple but meaningful text that make us think if our lives are same .
