Once completed you want to join the 2 ends to form a circle. Change to red before completing the stitch. Fasten off the white leaving a long length of yarn to sew the edges together. You should have 63 stitches - don't worry if you don't have quite that many or a few too many because you can adjust during the first row of the body of the hat by either slowly increasing or decreasing. (See photos on page 9 of the pattern). For example if you end up with 56 st - just sc in each st around for round 1 and then work the pattern as instructed :) Working with cherry red yarn and working in the round Round 1) *sc in the next 7 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (56 st) Round 2) sc in each st around (56 st) Round 3) *sc in the next 6 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (49 st) Round 4) sc in each st around (49 st) Round 5) *sc in the next 5 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (42 st) Round 6) sc in each st around (42 st) Round 7) *sc in the next 4 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (35 st) Round 8) sc in each st around (35 st) Round 9) *sc in the next 3 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (28 st) Round 10) sc in each st around (28 st) Round 11) *sc in the next 2 st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (21 st) Round 12) sc in each st around (21 st) Round 13) *sc in the next st, sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (14 st) Round 14) sc in each st around (14 st) Round 15) *sc2tog* repeat *to* all around (7 st) *Fasten off leaving a long tail. If you have a hole remaining close it the same way you did earlier for the head. Elf hat: Repeat the steps above only use cherry red for the hat brim and Kelly green for the body of the hat. Snowman hat: Repeat the same steps as you did for the Santa hat, except for the hat brim, you will be changing colour every second row. Start with royal blue and change to white (make sure to use the Impeccable Loops and Thread yarn). Do not fasten off the colours. Instead, drop the colour and pick up the new colour. Continue picking up the new yarn when needed. Work 56 rows. Fasten off the blue and fold in half lengthwise like you did with the other hats. Sc across the top using the white yarn. Join the two sides , change to the royal blue yarn and work the body of the hat, the same as the Santa and elf hat.
