Recommended materials and tools: • Alize Cotton gold 55% cotton 45% polyester (lemon) #110 100g/330m, 3.53 Oz/361yds • Some Alize Cotton gold 55% cotton 45% polyester (white) #55 100g/330m 3.53 Oz/361yds • Some Alize Cotton gold 55% cotton 45% polyester (pink) #518 100g/330m 3.53 Oz/361yds • Black embroidery floss or (2ply, Fingering) black 100% cotton yarn • 1.75 mm crochet hook (US #4, UK #2) • 6 cm / 2.36 in diameter wooden teething ring • 7 mm / 0.28 in safety eyes on secure fastening • Fiberfill for stuffing • Rattle insert (optional) Fine weight yarn. • Sewing pins, tapestry needle and scissors Number 2 in Standard Yarn Weight System (SPORT, BABY).

I used Sport (4/5 ply) cotton and st = stitch acrylic blend. ch = chain sc = single crochet inc = increase (2 single crochets in one stitch) dec = invisible decrease (2 stitches together working on front loops only) sl st = slip stitch (…) = repeat between () number of times indicated […] = total number of stitches in the round or row

❖ Toy is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds! ❖ You can use a scrap of contrasting yarn instead of the stitch marker!

Head: Working in rounds. Using 1.75 mm crochet hook and Alize Cotton gold (lemon) #110 1. Sc 6 in magic ring [6] 2. (inc) * 6 times [12] 3. (sc 1, inc) * 6 times [18] 4. (sc 2, inc) * 6 times [24] 5. (sc 3, inc) * 6 times [30] 6. (sc 4, inc) * 6 times [36] 7. (sc 5, inc) * 6 times [42] 8. (sc 6, inc) * 6 times [48] 9-13. sc 48 [48] - 5 rounds 14. (sc 7, inc) * 6 times [54] 15-18. sc 54 [54] – 4 rounds Install safety eyes between round 14 and 15, with the distance 9 st between them. 19. (sc 7, dec) * 6 times [48] 20. I use flat rattle box and insert it vertically, it helps to stuff the head easily from all sides! For stuffing I use long thin scissors! 22. (sc 4, dec) * 6 times [30] 23. (sc 3, dec) * 6 times [24] 24. (sc 2, dec) * 6 times [18] Stuff the head completely with filler. The shape of the head should be a bit triangle and well filled. Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Muzzle: Working in rounds. Using 1.75 mm crochet hook and Alize Cotton gold (white) #55 1. Sc 6 in magic ring [6] 2. 3 single crochets in one stitch, sc 2, 3 single crochets in one stitch, sc 2 [10] 3. sc 1, inc 2, sc 3, inc 2, sc 2 [14] 4. sc 3, inc, sc 6, inc, sc 3 [16] 5. sc 16 [16] Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Ears (make 2): Working in rounds. Using 1.75 mm crochet hook and Alize Cotton gold (lemon) #110 1. sc 6 in magic ring [6] 2. (inc) * 6 times [12] 3-4. sc 12 [12] – 2 rounds Put together and crochet through two layers 5 sc. Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing. Inner part (make 2): Working in rounds. Using 1.75 mm crochet hook and black embroidery floss or 2ply black yarn. 1. sc 6 in magic ring [6] Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Assemble the ears: Place inner part in the middle of the ear and sew it around. Refer to pictures!

Body: Working in rows. Using 1.75 mm crochet hook and Alize Cotton gold (lemon) #110 Start with foundation chain. Note that you may need to increase or decrease the number of rows to match your wooden ring. It should `hug` wooden ring completely. 1. ch 25 [25] 2. Start in second chain from the hook: sc 24, ch 1 and turn [24] 3-11. sc 24, ch 1 and turn [24] - 9 rows 12. sc 24 Fasten off and leave long thread for sewing.

Assemble the toy: 1. Sew the body part around the wooden ring. Weave in the yarn end.

2. Attach the head to the middle of the body. Make sure the eyes are looking straight ahead. And sew it (Stich to stich!), firmly as you can, so it doesn’t move when shaking. Weave in the yarn end.

3. Sew the muzzle between the round 15 and 20! Fixate it with a pins and sew it around. Stich to stich! Don’t forget to stuff it! Weave in the yarn end. Refer to the pictures!

4. Sew the ears between round 6 and 12. Weave in the yarn ends.

5. Using Embroidery floss embroider the nose as shown on the pictures, between round 4 and MR of the muzzle. When you’ll do the vertical stitch (For it I use just 2 threads of the embroidery floss), please, pull tight the thread to make more oval shape of the muzzle! Weave in the yarn ends. Refer to the pictures!

6. Using 2 threads of the Embroidery floss embroider the eyebrows 3 rounds over the eyes! Weave in the yarn ends. Refer to the pictures!

7. Now you will make face sculpture! (It`s optional) Insert pins as it`s shown in the picture, you have 3 points. Then insert the needle with enough long piece of yellow yarn in Point 3 near the neck. Leave there a long piece of yarn, about 8-10 cm. Pull out the needle from Point 1, insert the needle in the Point 2, pull out the needle near the neck Point 3 (at the same point where we placed the needle at the beginning). Pull well both the threads and tie them tightly. Weave in the yarn ends! Repeat this action with another eye! Repeat this action for both eyes 2 times. Watch video here!

8. Embroider the cheeks using Alize Cotton gold (pink) #518 between round 17 and 18. With the distance 2 st from the muzzle and 2 stitches wide! Weave in the yarn end.

9. Take Alize Cotton gold (white) #55 and embroider the highlights near the eyes. Weave in the yarn end. Please, refer to the pictures!

10. Using Embroidery floss embroider the spots as shown on the video! Weave in all the yarn ends inside the head! Watch video here!
