T shows a picture of a woman driving car and 2 mins asks Ss to discuss in pairs what they think what is happening. Then T asks the following questions: 3 mins 1. What is the woman doing? 2. What may her hand gesture mean? 3. What do you try to avoid while driving a car? 15 mins Main activities T asks Ss to discuss in pairs the following question: 1 min  What kind of distractions can you find in the listening section? T plays an audio and shows the following 3 mins question: Does the woman have any dietary restrictions? Ss discuss in pairs. T shows the transcript of the audio and 2 mins clarifies the distraction. T says the following information: It is a very common situation on IELTS 1 mins Listening when a speaker gives some wrong information, then corrects himself and gives right information. This little trick is called distraction. You can get distracted by the information you hear the first time, thinking that it is correct. And that’s where a lot of IELTS candidates get caught! The speaker will then correct what he/she said, and give new information, which will be the right answer. 8 mins T plays three more audios and Ss find the distractions and answer the question individually using the worksheets.
