ICRC for Central Africa Buéa Cameroon Jully 18, 2020

Object : Water and Habitat (WatHab) Engineer Dear HR Service, I am called Rollis Jiofack, an engineer in Infrastructure and Hydraulic Networks. Before everything, it goes without saying that the reputation of The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) goes far beyond all expectations. The quality, seriousness and dynamism demonstrated by your team during the presentations they made in your offices in Geneva for the 55th Graduate Study Programme in which I took part convinced me to be one of yours. Indeed, having two Bachelor's degrees, one in Water and Sanitation, the other in Physics, I also hold a Master's degree in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering. Speaking of my professional experience, my successive contracts as Work Supervisor on the Bagrepôle agricultural perimeter development project then as Team Manager for carrying out emergency sanitation and drainage works for the maintenance of the road network from the Hauts-Bassins region in Burkina Faso allowed me to refine my knowledge in the development of technical drawings and reports as well as to acquire skills in the implementation of engineering projects.  In addition to this, I worked as a consultant in hydraulics and hydrology for the World Meteorological Organization on the Integrated Flood Management project on the Volta Basin and the Climate Risks and Early Warning System Burkina-Faso project. This experience allowed me to acquire several skills such as organize and supervise humanitarian emergency activities, familiarize myself with electronic database platforms such as Alfresco and Oracle, carry out evaluations on the environmental and social impact study, organize evaluation meetings and manage the technical teams of the meteorological and hydrological services of the six countries of the Volta basin for the proper conduct of the project. In addition to that, I have a perfect command of French, English (I have a TOEFL certificate certifying my level) and the local language in the North West and South West regions commonly called Pidgin. It is true that I do not have the number of years of professional experience required for this job offer, but my very diverse academic background and my professional experience both in engineering firms and the United Nations, give me a great openness and a great capacity for problem solving. Hoping that my application will hold your attention I am at your disposal to demonstrate to you during an interview, my motivations and my future prospects that will make me a strength for your team. While waiting for a positive response from you, accept dear HR Service, the expression of my distinct and heartfelt greetings.

Ro is Ern
