M a r i a L i n n e m a n n was boni i n A m s t e r d a m but grew up i n E n g l a n d . Slie studied conducting, piano and violin at the R o y a l Academy of Music i n London. I n 1971 she emigrated to Germany, where slie soon discovered the classical guitar and began private studies on this i n s t m m e n t . H e r first book of guitar solo pièces was published i n London, and was followed by many G e r m a n publications of her compositions for the classical guitar as w e l l as for piano, recorder, violoncello and voice, in the years that followed. She has also produced several C D s mainly of her guitar music. T h e latest C D : 'Corning Home', includes a i l the pièces i n the three new gniitar éditions published by Joachim-Trekel-Musikverlag, Hamburg.

M a r i a L i n n e m a n n wurde i n A m s t e r d a m geboren, wuchs aber i n E n g l a n d a u f Sie studierte Dirigieren, K l a v i e r u n d Geige an der R o y a l Academy of Music i n London. 1971 emigrierte sie nach Deutschland, wo sie bald die klassische Gitarre entdeckte, u n d begann ein privâtes S t u d i u m a u f diesem Instrument. Ihre erste Ausgabe mit Solostùcken wurde i n London verôffentlicht, worauf i n den J a h r e n danach i n Deutschland viele Ausgaben mit ihren Kompositionen f a r Gitarre, K l a v i e r , Blockflôte, Violoncello u n d Gesang folgten. M a r i a L i n n e m a n n brachte auch einige C D s hauptsâchlich mit ihrer G i t a r r e n m u s i k heraus. Die letzte, neue C D „Coming Home" enthàlt aile Kompositionen die i n den drei neuen Gitarrenausgaben i m Joachim-Trekel-Musikverlag i n H a m b u r g erschienen sind.

COMING HOME

Thèse pièces are stories of a r r i v a i , each i n its own way. Coming home to the place where one grew up, for example. Or, as i n ' L i k e a Flower', reflecting on a whole life's joumey. 'Pour Nous' was composed i n a mood of happy expectation before I r e t u m e d to E n g l a n d to see my family; i t is dedicated to our clan, as the title suggests. ' L a U l t i m a Oraçion' is a prayer, a wish for a vision of hope and peace. Dièse Kompositionen sind Geschichten iiber die Ankunft, jede a u f ihre eigene A r t . Z u m Beispiel zurûckzukehren an den Ort, an dem m a n aufgewachsen ist. Oder, wie i n ,Like a Flower', mit dem B l i c k zuriick a u f eine ganze Lebensreise. ,Pour Nous' ist i n einer Stimmung der glùcklichen E r w a r t u n g entstanden bevor ich nach E n g l a n d reiste, u m même F a m i l i e zu besuchen; es ist unserem C l a n gewidmet, wie der T i t e l verrat. , L a U l t i m a Oraçion' ist ein Gebet, ein Wunsch nach einer Vision von Hoffhung u n d Frieden.
