3. DIAGRAM After identifying the drive, the diagram on the next page guides us through the possible scenarios that can happen on a door operator of modernizations. It is important to start from the beginning and to try to arrive to the point where the problem is happening. The suggested questions will help to locate the problem. The diagram allows to follow different ways and to arrive to numbered boxes. Those boxes describe the problem that could be happening and possible solutions.

WARNING Once the problem is identified (due to numbered table in the diagram) and the drive (due to the identification table), go to the section corresponding to the number indicated in the numbered table and follow the guidelines indicated.

4. CAUSES VS SOLUTIONS 4.1. (1): THE DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED / CLOSED MANUALLY
© Copyright Orona 2021
When the door drive is switched off, without power supply, the doors show more resistance than usual when attempting to open or close them manually. This situation do not allow them to open and/or close correctly. Check the mechanics of the operator Check the mechanics of the panels (that they are not damaged, misaligned). Check that there are no external elements that make difficult the movement of the door treads, ends of the door...

4.2. (2): WITH DOOR OPENED/CLOSED, THE INPUT LAP/LCP IS NOT ACTIVATED (Virtual signal LAP/LCP) In this case the LAP/LCP signal is calculated by the door drive. Internally, it knows the position of the door and when it understands that they are at one end or the other, it activates the LAP/LCP output signal. 1. If can be done, check the status of input LAP/LCP in the drive to verify if the signal is received.

WARNING The communication between the EXT3 and the controller is via CAN Bus. If the signals arrive correctly to the EXT3 and LAP/LCP status do not change in the controller (CTC 2.4.1), can be because a communication problem (connection, electric noises,…) or damages on the EXT3. 3.
If the drive is not generating the LAP/LCP signals despite the door panels being at one end or the other, it may be because the drive does not know the door position. In this case it will be necessary to perform a drive learning DRIVE TYPE

If the drive still does not detect the LAP/LCP signals after completing the above steps, this could be an internal problem in the drive, the encoder or the encoder cable, which would require replacement. DRIVE TYPE

4.3. (3): WITH DOOR OPENED/CLOSED THE INPUT LAP/LCP IS NOT ENABLED (Signal SLAP/SLCP) In this case the LAP/LCP signal is a signal supplied by a limit switch contact. This contact can be installed in the "doors closed" position, in the "doors open" position or in both at the same time. As it is an electrical signal generated by a limit switch contact, it is called SLAP/SLCP. As soon as the door panels reach the "doors opened"/"doors closed" position, the contact closes, indicating to the drive in which limit is it placed, either SLAP or SLCP. 1.

Visually check that there is no object that could be blocking the door movement. The door should be able to be opened and closed manually without offering more resistance than usual. The IRM signal is calculated from the motor current consumption. If this current exceeds a threshold, the drive interprets that this is because something is blocking the door movement and generates the IRM signal. The IRM detection threshold can be adjusted by parameters or potentiometer.
