Brief Abstract/Description of the Project

Third eye for people who are blind is an innovation which helps the blind people to navigate with speed and confidence by detecting the nearby obstacles using the help of ultrasonic waves and notify them with buzzer sound or vibration. They only need to wear this device as a band or cloth. What is the problem, challenge, opportunity, or issue facing the organization or industry that you would like to research and address?

According to WHO 39 million peoples are estimated as blind worldwide. They are suffering a lot of hardship in their daily life. The affected ones have been using the traditional white cane for many years which although being effective, still has a lot of disadvantages. Another way is, having a pet animal such as a dog, but it is really expensive. So the aim of the project is to develop a cheap and more efficient way to help visually impaired to navigate with greater comfort, speed and confidence. Why is it an Information Technology concern? It is our concern to help the disabled, which specifically the blind people because this is the only way to help them. In this way we were able to help them in our way.

It will helps the blind people to navigate with speed and confidence by detecting the nearby obstacles using the help of ultrasonic waves and notify them with buzzer sound or vibration. Identify resources you expect to use for your research?

Brief Abstract/Description of the Project The conventional method of calling name of each student is time consuming and there is always a chance of proxy attendance. The following system is based on face recognition to maintain the attendance record of students. As the time for corresponding subject arrives the system automatically starts taking snaps and then apply face detection and recognition technique to the given image and the recognize students are marked as present and their attendance update with corresponding time.
