BUS 1101 Unit 2 Discussion Assignment 2020
Personality is an individual’s naturally stable feelings, thoughts and behavioral patterns. Personality is defined as the traits that predict a person's behavior. (Raymond Cattell. 2020). It helps us suggest peoples internal thoughts, feelings, differentiate us from others, manage people effectively. It is useful in an organization where Job rotation is a priority. Values are “stable life goals, reflecting what is most important to them.” It can be seen as ones judgments of what is important in life. It shows what we deeply believe to be right. Personality traits are the characteristics that make us who we are. We all have an idea of our personality traits. The Big Five Personality traits are unique and everyone may identify he's or herself as having a form of each of these traits. The most important trait for my future Job (Senior Internal Auditor) is Openness. It shows a person is Creative, Intellectual, Curious, Original, Open to new ideas. Openness are people with high flexibility. Working as a Senior internal Auditor demands a lot of adaptability as you may be asked to integrate existing projects and audit them while giving reasonable assurance to management on it's effectiveness and efficiency. Audits will be done through different units thus my ability to learn new concepts, work with new tools and technologies will be highly needed as audits are very time sensitive. An Auditors work is highly based on information provided and its accuracy. The habit of seeking to know more and more, being open minded is a good prerequisite for the job. Open people are highly adaptable to change and teams that experience change, One of my professional goals is to be successful, well skilled Senior Auditor, able to work as a Supervisor. One of my professional goals is to be a successful, well skilled Senior Internal Auditor, and openness aligns with this goal because understanding someone's personality is very important for example a Senior Auditor is like a disseminator between stakeholders, Managers and Junior Auditors. To conclude, I must say personality is useful to an individuals professional growth but won't be complete without considering an individuals Values which are their beliefs of what is right. Values can shape our behaviors and better organize our goals. References: Carpenter, M., Bauer, T., & Erdogan, B. (2010). Management Principles 1.1.
