: All ships : All staff : Hyd. Test Guidance of bunker supply line

A . Pressure test regulation of fuel oil supply line. -

33CFR 156.170 : Transfer pipe system including loading arm and metal hose must not leak at least 1.5 times of the maximum allowable working pressure.

33CFR 155.820 : The vessel operator shall keep a written Record of the most recent test result and date.

B . Pressure test and recording of fuel oil supply line. 1. Test interval : More than 1 time per year 2. Recording/keeping : Test result & data must be recorded on Engine Log Book, Marked the recent test date & pressure at receive bunker line on bunker manifold.

C . Pressure test method of fuel oil supply line. ►

Company policy provides for 80% M.A.W.P of specified pressure on the E/R pipe line. The test carried out under the pressure at least 1.5 times of the M.A.W.P 1. Connected“T”to gauge position(“T”is make up air venting valve and press gauge) and removed air through air venting valve. 2. Opened HFO bunker tank’s outlet valve and F.O trans pump’s Suc./Disch. valve. 3. Closed valve from F.O trans pump to F.O bunker tank. 4. Opened bunker supply and demand manifold valve. Opened Air Venting V/V for venting. 5. Opened valve to F.O filling line, Closed 1/2 to valve of F.O Sett. tank. 6. Maked F.O on bunker supply and demand line by F.O trans pump. On time, adjusted valve(to F.O sett tank) for prevent pressure rising. 7. Inserted G.S Air to Air vent side after fill bunker and increase test pressure. 8. If it is risen to test pressure, inspected leakage and Pipe status. (If do not drop more than 10% even if 10 minutes pass after test pressure, pipe status normal) 9. Transferred remain F.O. to tank after test completion.

※Caution on test - Check pressure gauge before test. (Because Air is compressibility. In case Gauge does not become operation, that pressure is ascending continuously) - Observe below items that F.O Line doesn’t stick. a) Heating temperature : Heating more than 30℃.(Standard of 380cSt F.O pour point) b) Atmosphere temperature : Enforcement at temperature more than 25℃ . c) Test time required : Within 30 minutes(Preparation and V/V confirmation thoroughly so that can be enforced maximum in early time) - Carefully air venting and prevent to compress air. - Observe by all means sudden rise of pressure or excessive rise.(Test pressure observes so that to do not raise more than regulation pressure.) - Relief V/V inserts stopper and enforce test because ship that is established becomes relief V/V open before test pressure arrival to F.O filling line.

D . Safety countermeasure. 1. Arranged number of persons to both bunker manifold (P&S), prepared portable fire extinguisher and oil pollution prevention materials. 2. Closed plug of Scupper and Manifold oil containment on deck. 3. Arranged number of persons properly to F.O supply and demand Line and prepare on leakage. 4. To prepare to excessive pressure rise and arranged persons for middle V/V open because sudden rise of pressure. 5.
